I only learned a few years ago that here in the States what they call "oregano" in the store often isn't. You have to look for "Greek Oregano" vs. "Mexican Oregano" which is really a type of lemongrass! If it isn't labeled than it's probably the lemongrass. So now I know and I look - if I'm cooking pasta or something, Greek Oregano. If I'm cooking burriots, Mexican "oregano," lol.
