Some natural medicine in my home for my physical and mental health

Hi everyone, I hope that you're all doing well and using the best medicine in the world- the natural stuff!

A few days ago I went to Bunnings with a friend to buy a socket to fix my washing machine with and found a BIG bowl of 'Boom' instead...- a range of tasty lettuces and I love lettuces.

Not so much Iceberg, for there are no flavour or nutrients in her, but all others- especially Coral, Cos and Rocket and so for $20, I thought why not- and then replanted it. Yes that is a baby bath that was found on the footpath in the hard rubbish a few years ago by a former flatmate....so why not make good use of it...

We had also gone around to my friends place and she pulled 2 'arms' of Aloe Vera out of her garden and gave to me and so I had a day off today and was finally able to do some apartment gardening...

Love to know what you do with your Aloe!

Next plant on my agenda is to find some Lemon flavoured Basil to plant with my sweet Basil and my home will be complete (-ish)...

And living in a concrete jungle (which I do love)

I also need my green jungle for both my physical and mental health.
So I've got my Peace Lillies, Maiden Hair Fern, Sweet Basil, Aloe Vera and luscious lettuce!

I love my home. And my greens- even if half of them are fake....

Thanks so much for reading and I ope that you're home makes you as happy as mine does.
If not, make it make you happy! Love and colour is free!

If indoors, keep them near a sunny window or on a North-facing balcony. I find Aloe vera less tolerant of the sun than many other aloes

Yeah I don't have a lot of light coming in here so that's why most of my plants are fake...lol.. but the ones at the windows are the real ones and I have the Aloe behind the others, so they will get the sun, but not as full on as the others.

And in this apt I do get the morning sun, but since it's winter here and I'm 28 floors up, it's not only cold, but windy too.

When spring comes and it starts to warm up a bit, I will put them all back out onto the balcony, but have a fake vine fence to put up out there then, so they will get filtered sunlight from that, whereas the others, like the basil loves the full sun and the lettuce should be able to handle it aswell. If not, I'll put her into a filtered area too..

So what else do you use your aloe for?

I live in the natural home of most of the world's aloe species and I finally have the privilege of a small outdoor garden of my own which is hot, dry and sunny so I grow many and enjoy their winter flowers.
Aloe species with clear sap have similar properties to Aloe vera but there are other species that have bitter yellow sap and these are used as purgatives

If you're in a concrete jungle, I guess make it green inside. Aloe vera is a must, I always maintain some but I've never tried to grow it indoors.
