So much information here but, it does make sense. Now in my 30's I am just starting to have a regular period for the first time in my life! kinda crazy that it has taken so long but, I had a history of something similar to an eating disorder due to anxiety when I was a teen and in my 20's. Oddly enough though I was heavier then than I am now. I think I was eating plenty of carbs but not enough useful calories. Now I eat carbs and focus on veggies, proteins and healthy fats and feel much better, and I dare say, look much better too. Thanks for all of this information, it is interesting that carbs are important to the period!

Hey! Thanks for sharing your story! I am happy you are feeling well in your body now. It indeed is true that sometimes, even though we are not underweight, if we don't eat the amount of calories that our body needs at that stage of life, our period can disappear.
Take care!
