I remember as a kid doing the same thing. Plucking each purple pedal out and sucking on it.

Then in day I looked down and there were this little black insects that were almost the same shape but smaller.

Yukkkkkkk. Lol 😆 🤣 😂

Have not touched one since, except for with the lawn mower.
