Upvoting doesn't touch your SP. That is just a measure of how valuable your upvotes are. Your RCs and VP (vote power) reduce, but they build back up over time. At 100% upvote, you should be able to make 10-11 per day and it will be fully recharged by the following day. The lower your VP gets, the lower the value of your vote is and both you and the person you're voting on will benefit less, so it's recommended to keep your VP above 80%. https://steemworld.org/@atma.love is a good resource to monitor your a account statistics.
