Music is something every human seems to have a connection with, and to that am not an exception, ‘cause am a big time fan of good music, regardless of genre, be it rap or hip hop, or afrobeats, hut today I want to discuss one genre that I have found passion for , which is known as afrobeats ‘ afrobeats is a style of music that originated in Nigeria in the 1990s, and now has been making waves across the globe.

CURRENT SITUATION

For the last decade the Nigerian music industry has undergone a tremendous level of growth and success, thanks to the hardwork of its earliest pioneers , people like don Jazzy , olamide, timaya, wizboy, wizkid, andbothers who has made a lot of steps towards making , the Nigerian afrobeats a global concept, the Nigeria afrobeats is a form of music that combines , Western style of music and the local style, which is usually made up of local street slangs.
Nigerian music stars of the afrobeats genre, people like Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido are , topping charts, bagging mouth-watering endorsement deals, and selling out the most coveted show venues, home and abroad. This still as a testament to the height afrobeats has s gone to .
This new generation of Afrobeat artists are picking up pace and fitting perfectly into the big shoes of their predecessors. They’re changing the narrative and exceeding expectations, putting in the work and defying industry odds, whilst creating a brand that’ll cater to both the Nigerian audience and the international music scene. Is something the afrobeats genre hopes to achieve, artists like omah lay, rema ,ayrra Starr, ckay , and phyno among others has Played roles altogether to make Nigeria the biggest entertainment industry in africa,

But what does the future hold for afrobeats to dominate the music scene, or will it fade into obscurity like so many other genres before it?

However, there are also challenges facing the future of Afro beats in Nigeria. The music industry in Nigeria currently is so much competitive, with new artists constantly emerging and vying for attention. This saturation of the market will make it difficult for up-and-coming artists to break through and achieve success, in the massive music industry in the country.
