Hello and a warm greetings to you all on #MusicZone community. Its another interesting round on our festival Week-22, Round-1
I am @wizj
FOr this week, I shall play a cover of a song by SHINEHEAD "JAMAICAN IN NEW YORK"
I wish to begin this round of festival with some reggea vibes, of course this would mean to ignite some feelings inherent in us.
However, this song has many versions with same progression and instrumentation. Nevertheless, Shinehead portrays in his song which seemed like there was a stranger who moved to a new place. An alien from Jamaica to New York.
Making movements around this new vicinity trying to get use to people and other things happening there.
For a man to make a stand, sometimes he take rough the means.
Confront your enemies, outsmart them if you can
But if all else fails, you better run.
Shinehead says👆
This gets me laughing, hehehe😂😁😂,its more or less as saying "if you can't beat them join them"
The lyrics of the song send an in depth message to me and the all as well. Speaking like a true Jamaican, he meant that one should make himself/herself know of what he does.
Letting others know we've ambition is concrete to accept rather than loosing out and remaining somewhat useless.
In other words, to succeed could mean being outsmarting, not dubious ways but principled way with right intentions
Imagine myself in America or Europe or Asian, etc. I would want to adapt fast to their system of operation. This is a GIVEN
So, everyone is a BOSS in their own respective end until one moves away to another new area then, you become nothing more than nothing.
Don't drink coffee, I drink roots my dear
And I love my morning ride
You can see it in my motions when I walk
I'm a Jamaican in New York
See me walking down Church Avenue
With my hat leaned to one side
You can see it when I walk
I'm a Jamaican in New York
(Oh, oh) I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien
I'm a Jamaican in New York
(Oh, oh) I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien
I'm a Jamaican in New York
Roughness makes a man, as someone said
He is the rude boy of the day
Takes a man to make a stand, sometimes get wild
Be yourself, no matter what they say
(Oh, oh) I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien
I'm a Jamaican in New York
(Oh, oh) I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien
I'm a Jamaican in New York
Niceing up our party, can lead to notoriety
Pretty soon they'll know you as the Don
Because we live so hearty, Babylon don't like we
Still we're gonna party till the sun
And you don't stop, you proceed
And this is the rhythm and rhyme you need
Shinehead's gonna take the lead
Chucking badness does not make a man
And we're not the only ones with guns
Confront your enemies, outsmart them if you can
But if all else fails, you better run
All yard man, put up your hand
And let the world know that you have ambition
All yard man, put up your hand
And let the world know that you have ambition
Well a we, well a we a yardy
A weh we de?
We de a New York City
A weh se come yah fa?
No to make some money
We have to do that to feed we family...

Once again enjoying your interpretation, and the energy that you transmit to us through the instrument. The saxophone sounds incredible, you are the conductor, and the instrument is the puppet. We congratulate you for bringing this Reggae classic, which sounds great. We are happy about your participation. We invite you to think and analyze what could you improve about your publication. There is always an opportunity to learn and improve.
Thank you very Much @musiczone
Yes, improvement is necessary for one's life to be at peace with itself.
Just like you rightly mentioned. Am working daily and checking on myself and the need to improve more. Of course, that will come soonest.
Thanks once again

This is beautiful, but not only so, nostalgic for me. I'm a Jamaican in new York😂 regardless of my origin and present residence🤣🤣 good sax from you and nice bass in the track🙏
