today I ask myself (so you):
"Is self-upvoting a good idea or not?"
This time, I don't ask, because I just want to know your opinion - more I really do not know if it's good (based on the impacts on APR and on the reputation) or not.
It's a question I ask myself since I created my account on the STEEM blockchain.
Maybe you can tell me more about "why"/"why not" when checking an answer!

It's a never-ending story I think.
Some people get downvotes for self voting. On the other side, you see big accounts voting on their own content daily.
Some people say: it's possible, so it's ok. I then think it's also possible to kill other people ... is that ok too?
Personally, I don't upvote my own content because it feels wrong to me. I did it for some weeks long ago while I received ridiculous downvotes which only stopped when witnesses told these guys that's not ok what they were doing. Meanwhile one of them upvotes my contest :).
So I'm really unsure about this ... and very curious about the results of this poll.

I know what you mean! It's pretty hard to find out from a technical point of view (regarding the eventual harm to the reputation or something like that) - especially for a programming noob lol
No, downvoting is not okay in my eyes! Some people really use their HP for abusing it for censoring important posts ..
Yeah it feels "wrong" for me too - I don't know why. I tried it a long time to test if it makes my reputation rise less quick or anything but I couldn't notice ..

Self voting is not a sin. But, voting on self post in all the occasions is a crime. This thing should be considered.

Just interact with others and you'll get your votes. Self voting looks greedy. Occasional self-vote on posts would be fine. But don't do it on comments.
