Another day has come to a end in Alaska. The days are getting
less and less light now, losing about 5 minutes a day adds up rather quickly. On summer solstice June 21st we had 19 hours and 5 minutes of daylight. Today on August 3rd we have 16 hours and 45 minutes of daylight.

This photo above is huge, larger than the rest, that is if you click on it, it is very big. These photos were taken looking over the Cook inlet towards the mountains on the other side, about fifty miles away.

On the beach where these photos were taken are some buoys that are old and made of metal. I took some pictures of the sunset through the hole and then a zoomed in shot below.

That was actually a zoomed in shot through the hole, had to take
a few to get one that wasn't blurred! lol

I love the HUGE shot and the animated shot of the sunset. Days are getting shorter here too but not as quickly or dramatically. Our longest day in Vermont is about 15 hours 30 minutes. I was lucky enough to go fishing once in Alaska near the longest day of the year. We went fishing all day came back to camp in the evening for supper then went back out π My strongest memory was that we were sleeping in tents and it was hard to ever sleep because it never got dark in the tents.

I cannot begin to imagine having nineteen hours of daylight in the Summer!π₯π€βοΈ Worse though is imagining the opposite you have with darkness in Winter.βοΈπ¨β
