Can you imagine being a female spider and your male partner being so much smaller than you? The world would be an interesting place if all males were so much smaller than us ladies. LOL

The ORB in the name of The Golden Orb Spider refers to the architectural type of its web .... in the style an orb.

I love the golden lines these spiders weave. So special! All spiders weave silk of course but golden silk seems the most amazing of all.

Not many people like spiders but their ability to create silk and weave different types of silk webbing for different purposes is quite extraordinary. Male spiders even spin little webs to deposit their sperm in which they them pick up and store in their pedipalps until they find a suitable female. Amazing!
