Life doesn't actually have to be boring. You just have to dare to get out of your own house and into the world around you, where you will normally be offered a whole lot. All you have to do is open your eyes and look around and you'll discover the most interesting things when you're out and about, things that always make you stop and wonder.

Well, I have to admit that I don't actually need that much to stop me in my tracks. And especially here in Japan, even after so many years that I've been able to spend in this country, it always happens automatically that I discover something that arouses my interest. And it doesn't always have to be that exciting, I seem to be quite easy to get excited about. But I've probably already explained that a few times elsewhere.

And it was exactly the same again recently when we were out and about with the family. I had chosen a new route, which in itself provided a bit of variety and stimulated me already while driving.

Of course, it's often not so easy to stop suddenly when you're driving, because usually you're not alone on the road. But during that said drive I just had to stop when I passed this little red toori standing right next to the road. Normally it points the way to a small shrine hidden behind it, but at the same time it looked as if it was standing in a private garden. I couldn't really solve the puzzle, but perhaps it wasn't necessary in the end.

Right next to it was a small altar, which also belonged to this estate and which I naturally didn't want to overlook. I couldn't really make heads or tails of the whole combination, but well, I was able to accept that. Even if you should always take a closer look, you don't have to uncover every secret. Sometimes your curiosity is satisfied quite quickly and you can continue on your way. It was the same here, but when I am looking back right now, I'm still glad I stopped for a moment. A little fun is all we need...

Das Leben müsste eigentlich gar nicht langweilig sein. Man muss sich nur aus dem eigenen Haus hinaus und ins Leben hinein trauen, dann bekommt normalerweise eine ganze Menge geboten. Man muss nur die Augen aufmachen und richtig hinschauen, dann entdeckt man, wenn man unterwegs ist, die interessantesten Sachen, die einen immer wieder zum Anhalten und auch zum Staunen bringen.

Nun ja, ich muss zugeben, dass ich eigentlich gar nicht so viel brauche, um in meinen Wegen gestoppt zu werden. Und gerade hier in Japan passiert es auch nach so einigen Jahren, die ich hier schon verbringen darf, immer wieder automatisch, dass ich etwas entdecke, was mein Interesse erweckt. Und das muss gar nicht immer so aufregend sein, ich bin scheinbar ziemlich leicht zu begeistern. Aber das habe ich wohl an anderer Stelle schon so einige Male ausgeführt.

Und genau so war es erst letztens wieder, als wir mit der Familie unterwegs waren. Ich hatte eine neue Strecke gewählt, was an sich schon für ein wenig Abwechslung sorgte und mich beim Autofahren ein wenig stimuliert hatte.

Natürlich fällt es beim Fahren oft gar nicht so leicht, plötzlich anzuhalten, denn man ist ka meist nicht alleine auf den Straßen unterwegs. Aber einmal musste ich dann doch stoppen, als ich an diesem kleinen roten Toori vorbeikam, welches direkt neben der Straße in einem Garten stand. Normalerweise weist es den Weg zu einem kleinen Schrein, der sich dahinter versteckte, aber trotzdem wirkte es gleichzeitig so, als würde es in einem privaten Garten stehen. So richtig konnten ich das Rätsel nicht lösen, aber vielleicht war das letztendlich auch gar nicht nötig.

Gleich daneben befand sich auch noch ein kleiner Altar, welcher auch noch zu diesem Anwesen gehörte und welchen ich natürlich nicht übersehen wollte. So richtig wurde ich zwar aus der ganzen Kombination hier nicht schlau, aber damit konnte ich gut leben. Auch wenn man besser immer einen genaueren Blick wagen sollte, muss man dann doch nicht jedes Geheimnis lüften. Manchmal ist die eigene Neugier recht schnell befriedigt und man kann weiter seines Weges ziehen. So war es auch hier, aber im Rückblick bin ich trotzdem froh, hier kurz angehalten zu haben. Ein bisschen Spaß muss einfach sein...
