Savoring the memories w/ Samantha!

in Photography4 months ago

Alright, this is my return. I’ve really dropped off with posting. I’ve been on a two year transformative journey; I mean, from the very foundation of who I am and it’s a daily process of understanding what remains. I’ve been blogging on Hive since 2016 and in almost a decade I’ve documented so many chapters of my life on this blockchain. The times I was poor and desperate, to rich and bountiful, to again, poor, to again rich — and finally poor. There are so many subplots between those milestones but the point is, this has been a deeply meaningful platform for record my story and I’m back to be back.

I’ve been floating back and forth between coffee shops. My usual for the last 13 years, @caffetto, has been losing its appeal. I’ve been driving to a new Yemeni coffee shop in Little Canada and while I was there, I unearthed some old shoots with a Colorado based model that I met in Las Vegas during a shoot out event with my friend Cervena Fox. This was a sold out evening where models came, had hair and make-up done and were directed and pose coached by Cervana. We shot in her beautiful home and the sessions went on for 14 hours.

Of all the models of that day, Samantha was an absolute standout. I would later discover that she has years of experience modeling for herself across the iconic landscapes, mountains and forests in Colorado. She had enough experience that it translated well during out shoot together, of course from some nerves in a setting with so many people. She took great direction and made the short shoot a delight. The images from this shoot were some of my favorite from the entire Rockabilly Weekend that year.

Having the opportunity to revisit some of this old shoots has been one of my favorite parts of my career. It compliments having the opportunity to blog here on Hive because it’s a recollection of a pivotal time in my life. Honestly, at almost 44, I feel that things are slowing down now — in a good way. It’s very welcomed compared to the years I was jet setting around the world. I love being home with @guthrie and focusing on our lives more locally. A slower pace is where I want to be right now. More to come. Have a great night! Thanks for reading.

If you are slowing down at 44 then I'm not sure what I'm doing in my late 50s :) I've been getting into more things around music and running. I'm appreciating how precious time is.

Have fun.

I mean, the last 20 years have been really costly physically with all the traveling. I guess I’m just enjoying the calm for a change.

I believe as we age, we begin to appreciate a more slow paced and steady life than in our younger days. I wish you the best of years to come.

I agree completely, @fredaa. Thank you!

Glad to hear things are at least manageable and you are still pressing forward.

Doing okay, @bozz. The last year has been rough. How are you holding up?

It's going, just kind of in that late bear how long pattern again. Outside of crypto life is treating me good.
