A triumphant return after a brief hiatus. I talk so much about the routine and how if I miss a few days blogging here, it can spiral in to an unexpected hiatus, but…also, don’t be a slave to posting if it’s creating too much stress. Leading up to yesterday […the subject of tonight’s blog], I’ve been preparing for a big photography event here in Minneapolis. I’m dealing with camera issues, coordination and scheduling issues, all the normal day to day stuff like hanging out with @guthrie, Mirrorpool projects, etc. It was getting to be a lot and I had to be realistic with the hours in the day.
I wanted to share the first few edits from this big event last night. We were hosted by 300 Clifton in uptown Minneapolis. The owners have become friends of mine and its one of my favorite places to shoot. This came to be because two friends of mine, Moustache Jim and Farah from Lovely Organic Apothecary, were both frustrated with the constant creative setbacks over the last two years with COVID. I introduced them to each other last fall and in a very organic way, this big shoot event began to manifest itself. That all culminated last night at 300 Clifton.
Jim and I are polar opposites when it comes to photography. He shoots with film, high end vintage equipment. Large and medium format cameras. Even his style and dress is a reflection of the fact that he was born out of time. I’m entirely digital and have been committed to that medium since 2000. My first camera was an Olympus E20N. The allure of this event was that clients would have the opportunity to shoot with us for 45 minutes each. Farah was able to completely sell out the event with her unmatched marketing and networking skills.
The photos I’m sharing are of both Jim and Farah. I’m reviewing all 2000+ photos I took over 13 hours of shooting. All the client shots are great, but I thought a good introduction to the event was to feature the partners that made it all happen. The event was such a success that we’re planning on hosting these every quarter. The money is great, but that’s secondary to the satisfaction I get from collaborating with artists that I adore and respect. For now, enjoy these. The next few posts are going to be the initial photos with the clients shot at 300 Clifton.

Loving it all as usual🖤 and I totally agree, a few days without blogging and it turns into a longer hiatus. Happens to me too.
It is a struggle, @artedellavita! Balance.
I totally hear you about being a slave to posting. That is part of the reason that I started taking the weekend off from Hive several years ago. It just gives me time to regroup and refocus for the week ahead. It has worked well for me, but I do miss the potential rewards. I guess posting just to post isn't really a great idea either though.
@bozz, yeah. I had to catch myself falling in to that trap. This was just a time that I couldn't focus on anything. I was pulling myself in too many direction. I needed a break, but I'm back!
Very beautiful photos thanks for sharing 👍🏾
@kgakakillerg thank you so much!
No worries my friend it's my pleasure 🤝🏾
