Good evening, friends! Good morning to those in the East. I’m reflecting on a fantastic day. Busy, but rewarding. The family and a couple friends and I went to see Godzilla vs. Kong. I don’t care how many times they do it, I’ll endure the camp to watch giant kaiju decimate a city. I didn’t love King of the Monsters, but it was because they tried to do too much. An attempt at a 50 minute climax is lost on the audience. This was measured, and the fights were important. I also fit in an EUC ride to @caffetto and the weather was absolutely perfect. Good day!
I have some new photography to share. I dug back in to a folder from last fall. It was the two day dark pinup sessions with Lovely Organic Apothecary in South Minneapolis. I was brought on as the guest photographer for this event and the first shoot of six was with a beautiful model and fashionista named Hayley. She was a close friend of the salon owner and we immediately had wonderful creative chemistry. Farah, at Lovely, did such a wonderful job laying out the wardrobe, space and make-up.
Over the years of my career, around 2/3’s of my clients are first time models. It’s a common misconception that I only shoot with professional or established models. One of my strengths is being a true work-for-hire photographer and making everyone I shoot with look their best. The most critical part of that is a client that is willing to take direction, and Hayley was a dream. I was able to set up some killer lighting scenarios just with what I had available with the salon window and a few lamps.
This is the final set of edits from this event with Hayley. There are one or two other clients that still have a set to come. I want to finish them up soon because I’m already a little behind with the follow up event at Lovely Organic Apothecary last month. I’m getting some good use out of the new Nikon Z6II with a few more shoots booked throughout the rest of April, including a possible visit to @roadscape. Thanks for reading and for following my work here on Hive! Have a great night!

Happy Easter
Thanks, @proxyb!
You're welcome
Awesome shots! That is really cool that you mostly work with first time models. You would never know based on the pictures. I guess that is why you are so good!
Thank you, @bozz! Yeah. That's the truth. I used to just fly all over the world and shoot anyone that was willing to hire me at my rate. I actually loved working with first time models.
That sounds pretty awesome!
The photographer is nice and clearly picture of you.
You already know I love your art but you had me at apothecary lol🥰
