It is said, it is told, it is rumoured, that on a certain occasion Albert Einstein was asked what the fourth world war would be like and that he, laconic, who knows if, furthermore, straightening that long hair affected by the snows of time that made him look like a modern Merlin, he answered: it will be with stones.
It is clear that we all know the true meaning of Albert Einstein's response, but we tend to forget that the stone, after all, has also been another metaphorical opium of the people - as well-known stories certify, such as that of poor San Esteban- and although methods, like wars, also tend to evolve, the tricky thing -not surprising, of course- is knowing at what moment, supposedly, a friendly hand will also throw theirs at you. Although, after all, the great moral is none other than to be clear about something that has been repeated over time: there is nothing new under the sun.
Se dice, se cuenta, se rumorea, que en cierta ocasión se le preguntó a Albert Einstein, cómo sería la cuarta guerra mundial y que éste, lacónico, quién sabe si atusándose, además, esa larga cabellera afectada por las nieves del tiempo que le hacía parecer un Merlín moderno, respondió: será con piedras.
Está claro, que todos conocemos el verdadero sentido de la respuesta de Albert Einstein, pero solemos olvidar, que la piedra, después de todo, ha sido también otro metafórico opio del pueblo -como así lo certifican historias tan conocidas, como la del pobre San Esteban- y aunque los métodos, como las guerras, tienden también a evolucionar, lo delicado -que no lo sorprendente, desde luego- es saber en qué momento, supuestamente, una mano amiga te arrojará también la suya. Aunque, después de todo, la gran moraleja, no es otra, que la de tener claro, algo que se ha venido repitiendo a lo largo del tiempo: no hay nada nuevo bajo el sol.
