[ENG-SPN] On the way to Andalusia / De camino a Andalucía

There are many in Spain who, taking advantage of the true exodus that the month of August represents - where the unbearable heat makes even the persistent cicada leave its monotonous symphony to stay safe in the shade of the thyme - travel in endless caravans to the coasts of Andalusia to let themselves be carried away by the charm of its beaches and the magnetism of its waters, which are not always as calm as they appear.

Many, moreover, do so by crossing that land of mystical charms, which Cervantes freed from its centuries-long ostracism, when his fertile creativity gave free rein to that superb hero of the enchanted worlds, who, deep down, rides through time in our unconscious: Don Quixote of La Mancha.

Puerto Lapice is therefore a must-see before facing the twists and turns of the Despeñaperros mountain pass - in the vicinity of which the famous battle of Las Navas de Tolosa, also called the Battle of the Three Kings, was fought - and there, you can let yourself be carried away by three enchanting circumstances: the inn where Don Quixote was knighted; the splendid Main Square and those melancholic windmills, whose inert blades remind us of times that, perhaps, were really better.
