Another walk in a local quarry, with lots of ancient trees, lovely rustic colours, moss and lichen on stones. It was difficult underfoot at times, and a steep climb back.

As you walk through the quarry, there is a lot to see, so a slow saunter around is necessary to take it all in.

Now that the area isn't a working quarry anymore, it is a safe haven for wildlife. You even get the odd cow grazing down here!

We are getting a mixture of rainy days and the odd bit of sunshine. There hasn't been a lot of frost about at the moment, so we can't complain too much ... although we do!

The silver birch trees next to the copper coloured bracken always creates a lovely combination.

There is something very photogenic when it comes to a weathered, wooden gate in the countryside! Alas, this is where our walk ended.

Wow, what a beautiful place. Where is the forest located?
Thank you. I'm based in the middle of the UK.
