Don't tend to do big wagers very much any more, and the one I have in mind was quite a few years ago, and a bit of a mistake TBH. I got the decimal in the wrong place and instead of a 0.50p each way bet for a total of £1.00, it got placed as a £5.00 each way for a total of £10.00. Got lucky with that one as it won at odds of 11-1 making me a lovely little £66.00 profit ...phew!!!

I am not a person to bet a lot, in business, if I have bet in my youth and I can not complain I did very well, but the economic situation of my country changed drastically.

I think it was on the most joked thing then, i was so sure of winning the cut.
But my fear was on the number of participants, I was glad for the mercy of the second pick which happened to be me.
My biggest Wager, interpreting wager as taking a chance , was to change career trajectory at age 53
My biggest wager was betting $20 on whether a garden bed would survive a Bush Turkey attach overnight, I believed it wouldn't, it didn't and I won :)
I can say I do Forex Trading and about 7 years ago the Aussie Dollar reached Parity with the American Dollar, I didn't think it would, and had an open trade, counting on it dropping quite quickly, overnight it reached Parity and I lost quite big, 40,000
