Today is week 29 of my #saturdaysavers club savings. And getting ahead of myself, I'm going to show you where I was a year ago!
Today was the first time I thought about distance and my progress on it. I think I've written before that I started from scratch. In a way, it was even better for me. I was left with only two fears. The risk of losing time and losing myself.
At my age, with zero in my pocket, the fear of losing time is a little different from when I was 20. You don't have your whole life ahead of you anymore. You may not even have your twenty years...
The fear of losing myself has been haunting me ever since I quit my first favorite pastime. Track and field for my studies. Not without help from my parents, of course. It wasn't my choice. Not my fault, but I didn't learn the lesson...
For the rest of my life, I gave up on my dreams, my goals and, as a consequence, myself. For different reasons and in different situations. Well, that's life. At least it wasn't boring...
Soberly evaluating both fears, I realized that they were not fears, but opportunities. I had always enjoyed writing, but I didn't do it on a regular basis. That is, I was already losing and losing time while I wasn't writing. Consequently, I was also losing myself again.
Two fears. One solution. Hive.
I've never been comfortable with uncertainty. So I decided to keep a spreadsheet of Hive savings and second-layer Hive tokens, which I still do. I also archived it every month for statistics.
As it turned out today, I started doing this from the first of May last year. It's been a year now. And I was very surprised when I opened it. The results exceeded my expectations, actually!
Gosh, a year ago I only had 231 HP, 25 ALIVE, 12 LEOs and so on... Honestly, it was all valued at $238. That's pretty much zero, if you get my sense.
Now my savings estimate is $1,269. And the whole time we've been in a bear cycle, if you remember...
By the way, I still have the approximate token prices from that period:
When I started keeping this chart, I also started setting monthly goals for myself. And with varying success, I kept going toward them. As you can imagine, a year ago, my posts didn't pay too much. Still, I managed to make a few X's during this bearish year. To be exact, it was about 6 X's.
The goal for the next 12 months is to make at least 3 X's! Although a bull market can bring in a lot more if you do it right.
The bear market has its advantages with the right approach. Hive in turn provides its opportunities. All I've been doing this time is writing, spread sheeting, reading, learning and communicating.
Every day!
So nothing is impossible...
Now to the numbers to date!
Primary Goal
My primary goal is 100,000 HP. But I decided to track it in 10,000 HP increments, so that's the number I want to see by the end of 2023.
This week, my HP went up 36 HP from 1842 to 1878. I'm approaching 2K HP, which I didn't even dream of a year ago. I'm sure it wasn't realistic for me at the time).
Secondary Goal
Secondary goal is 7,000 AP. For this week, my AP went up 135 ALIVE from 6149 to 6284 AP. The completion rate at this point is 89%. If you remember, a year ago it started at 25 ALIVE... I think it's pretty good!

The overall percentage on all my targets went up 0.44% from 36.77% to 37.21%.
I seem to have had a pretty good week, as well as the past year, so I don't want to talk more today about the numbers and my actions for this week. I'll leave that for the next report, when I analyze all the data again. I think I will find a lot more interesting things to adjust my progress once again. I think it will be interesting. And not just for me.
Starting to saving is easy, setting goals and following them is fun. At the end of the road, there is a prize waiting for us, which we will choose for ourselves. And it's not even about the money. It's about what you do next. Who you help and who you make happier.
