Have you thought about creating your own video channel? Or have you already started one? It seems to be all the rave these days since everyone has the ability to do it…all you really need is a phone & you can kick it in gear…

But wait, there’s more than meets the eye….it is more challenging than you thought. While it can be liberating & allow you to get out of your comfort zone, it can be time consuming, frustrating & even downright confusing at times …

In this fourth installment of the In The Life Of A Content Creator, I share some of the things I learned along my path as a video content creator so you won’t have to go through some of the mistakes I did….and might help you grow your channel or video views that much faster…

These are some great tips for video creation. I'm still seeing a lot of videos called IAAC Day XXX and it's not really inviting to watch them. The title and the thumbnail are the packaging of your product and they really matter the most.

P.S: Didn't you want to take the wednesday of...lol

Ha ha ha! Yes I did & then I felt the need to do a video anyways! The life of a content creator - sometimes you just can't stay away....we will see if I do take the "day off" tomorrow. (I almost feel bad not having content up for you guys lol.)

Yes, the titles can make or break the video sometimes. The content itself can be amazing but when you have the same boring headline, well, people are going to skim right by it. This is where the "pull" theory (like @jongolson talks about) comes in!

Ok, yell at me later if you see me working TOO hard lmao. Checking out your SL Academy, too ;) Good stuff!

I agree with you. When we enjoy what we are doing, the job is not a weight and we do it because we like what we are doing. So why would we need days off... lol

Right?? But on the other hand, I tend to become a "workaholic" sometimes. So I have to force myself to relax a bit too. It's all about balance but it isn't easy lol.

I want to spend more time playing SL and my other games but I don't have enough hours in a day it seems, even with a schedule ha ha.

Oh well! Having fun regardless 💗💗

Wow! Thank you so much. That means a lot & I appreciate the upvote. I am starting this series becoming something that might help content creators down the line so I am going to see where this takes us! :) 💚

Great stuff, Jenn and lot's of truth here. Step 1 is to just get started. PREACH! Gosh. If more people could just take that first step I think they'd see how easily the ball gets rolling. Also great tip about the headlines. I am so sick of seeing #iamalive day 238. I mean no disrespect for anyone who came up with that or is partaking in it because truly, I think it's FANTASTIC that you've been consistently showing up for 238 days! However....the reason the views are down is because of what you just said a) the titles need to be unique and b) if you're just showing up to say you are showing up, that gets kind of tiring after awhile. Lots of people are showing up...put some effort into it!

Eeek....probably going to ruffle some feathers but it does drive me crazy a little bit! :D Love ya!

I agree with you 100%. And absolutely, NO disrespect here either. The challenge is a fantastic initiative for newcomers (or even Hive veterans). It can help a creator become inspired by something along the way when doing so. However, yes, the titles are everything. Even if the title was switched around as I mentioned in my example:

#IAAC Day 2003 - Paragliding For The LLamas is boring. Switch to Paragliding For The Llamas - Day 2003 #IAAC & wow! What a game changer. If I saw Paragliding FIRST, I would be much more likely to watch.

Thanks for your input & for your support! :) 💚

I enjoyed the B&W challenge we did. It gave me a reason to post every day.

Oh yeah! I remember that....it WAS fun! Maybe I will think of something to do like that in the near future so we can all take part. Will keep you posted ;)

Thank you as always! You rock! :)

You're welcome @pixiepost! 😎

It can be very tough to get the channel known... I had a channel,(its still up with 190 subscribers lol) but man I was not good at creating videos haha

Ha ha oh yeah, it takes more work than some people realize. It was surprising for me even! Editing in itself takes time. Scheduling is so important & sticking with it (therefore, consistency). I think since now I am starting to block time for video creation, it's helping me stay on track.

Batch videoing (doing enough content to divide into several videos) helps, too. I don't get to do this often enough but I am starting to map out a schedule I can do this more often. Time is invested initially but it SAVES time in the long run. ;)
