RE: MED-HIVE weekly discussions | Vision and Eye Health #1 | What if?

Yay! So good to have you back!!! @consciouscat look who's here hehe... I need to come visit your blog too, Caroline πŸ€—

Gosh, losing my eyesight is something I cannot even comprehend. I mean I see how well others have adapted but I think it must be so overwhelming to have to rely on others so completely in the early days. Such a huge adjustment and the thought of not seeing my children or family and friends' faces again... noooo... I don't ever want that to happen. I did go to a physio for a course of treatments at one point and he was blind and managed really well. He just knew where everything was...

True. It's never a pleasant experience, the gift of sight is one we cherish and hope to cherish more by ensuring we care for our eyes even as we use it and age along side.

A few people believe we may have a third eye, the pineal gland which helps with geolocation and body part movements and station. This is probably how the therapist could know when things are. Hmm. . Is the gift of sight more than just the eye?

@samsmith1971 you read my mind; I was literally clicking on @blackdaisyft's profile/page/wall like 2 days ago (??) thinking, "Where is she? I miss her!" πŸ˜‚ Thanks for being such a fabulous mind reader 😁 and for thinking to tag me!

I'm definitely not going to imagine being blind for a day. I have zero interest in having that happen. I will imagine the things I want to have happen! πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜„πŸ˜…

As usual Margarida, this is a very well-written and thoughtful post. It definitely deserves more upvotes/HP than it's been given so far. I might have to do something about that πŸ˜‰πŸ˜˜

Meanwhile, you mentioned some mental health issues had gotten worse? Are you still following and practising the stuff Irene Lyon teaches, my love? It was really and truly the very, very, very best work I've ever found in years of searching to support our mental (and physical) well-being. Big, big hug. xxx

Hello my love πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ˜πŸ˜ oh how I've missed you both and us chatting along on the comments of Hive heheh ❀️ thank you so much for stopping by!

About my mental health issues it was just a minor setback, nothing serious!! I'm still doing great and with much more emotional tools now to deal with life πŸ™πŸ™ I haven't seen much more about Irene sadly, I'm always meaning to and then time passes by πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ however, the few things I saw are most helpful and I'm still practising and each day I feel I know myself even better hehehe

Much !LUV and lots of HUGS!!

!LUV 😘 and !HUGS πŸ€— (apparently not a token...yet!)

Glad you are !ALIVE and well (enough!) Xxx

My dear Sam! Thank you so much for stopping by 😊😊 you don't miss a thing hehehe

This med-hive prompt was really provocative to think about! I really couldn't imagine a reality where I could do my job without my sight, it amazes me that you found a physiotherapist who was blind 😲😲😲 but I guess people also have the amazing ability to adjust to new life conditions thankfully πŸ™

When I was at university, another student in my class had a serious visual impairment, he wasn't totally blind but it was close to it. He was trying to graduate in Physiotherapy and I thought it to be very hard for him. I do know it's possible, I just couldn't imagine myself being able to adjust if I lost my sight 😰

So glad that you are here! Thank you for your lovely comment, they were dearly missed ❀️❀️😍

Have a wonderful week! Much !LUV and hugs πŸ€—πŸ€—

Some people truly inspire me with their courage and perseverance in the face of adversity!
