Hi Stock images..
This time we will see some pictures of the ornamental fish that I keep in the aquarium in my house, the ornamental fish that are my collection in today's post, namely the arowana fish.

Arowana fish or Arowana (family Osteoglossidae) is one type of ancient freshwater fish which is now widely used as ornamental fish with a fairly expensive price, this Atwana fish is spread all over the world, starting from Africa, Southeast Asia, Australia to America South, genetic studies and fossil findings show that this type of arowana fish has lived on earth for at least 220 million years, which is a very long time

So as one of the ancient fish species, the arowana has several unique physical characteristics, namely the head is generally solid, with an elongated body, covered with large scales and stacked to form a beautiful mosaic with various colors, dorsal and anal fins located far behind the body. The small pectoral and pelvic fins are the hallmark of this arowana fish.

Arowana is a freshwater carnivorous fish that lives in river and lake habitats with calm waters, although there are also those that live in rivers with strong currents. The riverbank area is overgrown with many forest trees with roots sticking out in the water and lush leaves on it. become a favorite habitat for Arowana, because these habitats generally can provide a lot of food sources and can also take shelter safely.

As one of the freshwater predatory fish, which looks for prey on the surface of the water, Arowana fish are very good at jumping into the air to chase prey in the blink of an eye, which consists of insects, reptiles and birds. Arowana also has a good ability to take into account the position of prey located above the water surface, the hallmark of Arowana fish is to breathe by directly taking oxygen from the air.
