After finishing our meal, one of the staff informed us that our dining receipt could be used as a discount for tickets to explore the farm. Excited by the opportunity, we made our way to the ticket counter, conveniently located near the entrance where we had parked. 🌾✨

This is where tickets for Old Phuket Farm are sold—a place that offers a glimpse into the traditional farming lifestyle of Phuket in the past. The farm features a variety of activities and demonstrations, such as rice planting, with a dedicated paddy field for learning, rubber tapping, rice milling, and even Thai cooking. There’s also a beautifully preserved traditional Thai house, showcasing antique tools and household items from bygone days. Additionally, visitors can interact with the friendly water buffalo, which are a highlight for many.

We handed our dining receipt to the counter staff, and in return, they gave us green stickers to wear on our shirts, indicating that we had access to the farm. Along with the stickers, we received a map of the farm to guide us through the different areas and activities. 🐃🌾✨

Right next to the ticket counter is a souvenir shop filled with items reflecting the traditional rural lifestyle of the past. The shop offers a variety of goods, including traditional clothing, household items, and ornaments, all inspired by the culture and heritage of Phuket’s countryside. 🛍️🌿✨

Next, we came across a traditional Thai house, a single-story structure elevated on stilts. Its architecture reflects the elegance and practicality of old Thai design, blending seamlessly with the surrounding nature. 🌾🏡✨

The house is not only beautiful but also showcases the craftsmanship and wisdom of the past, making it a highlight of the visit.

The open space beneath the house was neatly arranged with various agricultural tools hanging on display. Nearby, there was a traditional rice mortar, used for milling rice in the past. Visitors who purchase a full package can enjoy a guided tour, including demonstrations of traditional rice milling techniques. However, since we used our dining discount for entry, our visit was self-guided. 🌾⚒️✨

Moving up to the second floor of the house, we found an open layout with only the bedroom enclosed as a separate room. The rest of the space was divided using woven bamboo walls, standing about waist-high, providing a sense of structure while maintaining an airy and open feel. This design reflects the simplicity and practicality of traditional Thai homes. 🏡✨

Inside the bedroom, there was a bed, a dressing table, and other essential items carefully arranged to recreate a typical sleeping space from the past. These displays offer visitors a glimpse into the daily lives of people in old Phuket, highlighting the simplicity and functionality of their lifestyle. 🛏️🌿✨

In another section of the house, there was a beautifully arranged display of ceramic and porcelain items, showcasing the craftsmanship of the past. The collection included intricate vases, plates, and jars, all stored in elegant wooden cabinets. Above the display, musical instruments and photographs added a touch of historical charm, reflecting the cultural heritage of the era. 🎺🖼️✨

This room felt like stepping back in time, offering visitors a deeper appreciation of the artistry and history preserved here.

One of my favorite areas was the kitchen, which was filled with an array of antique cooking tools and utensils. The low table in the center was beautifully arranged with various ingredients, recreating the atmosphere of traditional Thai cooking. It felt like a glimpse into the past, where meals were prepared with love and simplicity. 🍳🌿✨

When I saw the coconut grater alongside halved coconuts on display, it immediately reminded me of the classic Thai movie "Mae Bia". Inspired by the iconic scene, I couldn’t help but channel my inner Mam Mee, the lead actress from the film, and imagine myself grating coconuts just like in the movie! 🥥🎥✨

After exploring the traditional Thai house, we continued walking to explore more of the farm. I stopped at a small canal filled with blooming pink lotus flowers, their vibrant colors standing out beautifully against the green surroundings. Despite the shade provided by the trees, the scorching afternoon heat began to take its toll, leaving us feeling tired and reluctant to continue further. 🌸🌞✨

We then made our way to the buffalo pen, where several large water buffalo rested peacefully. Each buffalo was massive, with long, impressive horns that added to their majestic presence. The farm plays an important role in preserving Thai buffalo heritage, allowing future generations to learn about their significance in traditional farming. Most of the buffalo were lying down, likely seeking relief from the intense heat of the afternoon.

After spending some time observing these gentle giants, we decided to head home as the heat became overwhelming. Although there were still many fascinating areas we hadn’t explored, we felt content with what we had experienced so far. 🐃🌞✨

Visiting Old Phuket Farm was like stepping back in time to experience the charm and simplicity of life in old Phuket. From the beautifully preserved traditional Thai house to the peaceful buffalo pen and vibrant lotus flowers, every corner of the farm offered a unique glimpse into the island's cultural heritage. It was a perfect blend of learning and relaxation. 🌾🐃🌸

Although the heat eventually cut our visit short, the memories we made and the stories we learned will stay with us. Old Phuket Farm is truly a treasure for anyone looking to connect with the roots of Phuket’s culture and traditions. If you’re planning to visit, I’d recommend coming in the cooler hours of the morning or late afternoon to fully enjoy the experience.
