This morning was pretty eventful—I took my son shopping for his new school uniforms. See, he's switching to a school nearby, so we had to ditch all his old gear and get him sorted for the new place. School's starting up again soon, so we had to get on it.

We headed over to the Big C Department Store, where they've got all sorts of stuff for students. It was buzzing with activity, booths set up everywhere, selling everything a student could need. Walking through the store, it felt like we were on a mission. We scoured the aisles, picking out the right uniforms for him. It was kind of exciting, knowing this gear would be part of his daily routine at his new school.

In Thailand, where development is still in progress, a significant portion of the population grapples with financial constraints. As the new school year looms closer, it becomes a pressing concern for parents facing economic difficulties. While some families opt to purchase only the essentials, others resort to more desperate measures, such as pawning valuables at local pawn shops—a recurring story in the news cycle each year.

However, amidst these struggles, some fortunate individuals don't face the same financial hurdles. They're able to provide for their children without worry, affording them the luxury of new uniforms as they embark on the academic year ahead. It's a stark reminder of the economic disparities that persist within the country, where access to necessities like education can vary greatly depending on one's financial circumstances.

After selecting the perfect school uniform for my son, we decided to make the most of our trip to the Big C Department Store by picking up some household essentials as well. It's convenient to have everything we need under one roof.

Among our purchases was cat food, ensuring our furry family members wouldn't go hungry. Big C truly does have a wide range of consumer goods, making it a one-stop shop for all our needs. With our shopping list checked off, we headed home, ready to tackle whatever the day had in store for us.

With my frequent travels, finding quality time with my son can be a challenge. So, after our shopping spree, I decided to treat him to something special—a visit to a renowned honey toast shop in Phuket Old Town. I've been eyeing this place for a while now, always seeing a long line of eager customers whenever I pass by.

Luck was on our side today; the shop wasn't too crowded, and we managed to snag a table without waiting. Excitedly, we ordered the Hokkaido Milk Honey Toast, along with some matcha latte and Thai tea drinks to wash it down.

However, as soon as our order arrived, we realized the taste was overwhelmingly sweet for our liking. Despite the anticipation, it turned out to be a disappointing experience. Regretfully, we concluded that this would also be our first and last visit to the shop.

Nevertheless, the moment spent together, trying something new, was precious. And even if the honey toast wasn't to our taste, the memory of exploring a quaint café in Phuket Old Town with my son will always remain cherished.

After our honey toast disappointment, my son and I decided to make the most of our time in Phuket Old Town. It had been months since my last visit, partly due to the scorching heat that made walking around unbearable.

But today seemed different. The sun was still intense, but a gentle breeze swept through the narrow streets, offering some relief from the heat. We embarked on a leisurely stroll, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of the old town.

As we wandered, we admired the colorful Sino-Portuguese buildings lining the streets, each one telling a story of Phuket's rich history. The aroma of street food filled the air, tempting us to indulge in a snack or two despite our recent culinary letdown.

Despite the heat, the charm of Phuket Old Town was undeniable. From the bustling markets to the serene temples tucked away in quiet corners, every step revealed something new and intriguing.*
