Roman-era statues of Aphrodite and Dionysus unearthed in Turkey

Archaeologists have discovered statues representing Aphrodite and Dionysus in the ancient city of Aizanoi. According to Greek mythology, the deities Aphrodite and Dionysus had a grand love affair. The statue heads were found at the bottom of a creek bed, but archaeologists note they found the bodies during a previous dig - it is not known how the heads and bodies were separated.

Aizanoi has been occupied since the Bronze Age, emerging in the Hellenistic period as an important political and economic centre. In 133 BC, the city was bequeathed to Rome, becoming part of the Roman province of Phrygia Pacatiana

The Pantheon is the best preserved temple in Rome and, even two thousand years after its construction, it still holds the record for the largest concrete dome in the world.

Built by Marcos Agrippa, the temple was completely restructured after a fire, by Emperor Hadrian who added, the gigantic round dome, built in the image of the celestial sphere: hence probably the name Pantheon, abode "of all the gods"
The dome of the Pantheon is famous throughout the world, either for its imposing grandeur or for its unusual oculus: an opening in the ceiling through which the sunlight illuminates the entire temple from above.

Arg-e Bam the citadel of Bam, is the largest adobe brick construction in the world (sand and straw clay bricks). It is located in Bam, a town in the province of Kerman in southeastern Iran. the area of the citadel of Bam is approximately 180,000 m², and is bounded by mighty walls 6-7 meters high and 1815 meters long. The Citadel shows two of the towers and for which it is known. There were 67 such towers scattered around the ancient city of Bam. It is mentioned by UNESCO as a World Heritage work and was badly damaged in a 2003 earthquake.🙀🙀

The Praetorian Fountain
It is located in the heart of the historic centre and represents the most important landmark of Piazza Pretoria, Italy.
The fountain was built by Francesco Camilliani in the city of Florence in 1554, but was transferred in Palermo in 1574.
The fountain included 48 statues and was surrounded by a long arbor formed by 90 columns of wood.
In 1573 the indebted Luigi de Toledo, on the verge of moving to Naples, sold the fountain to the city of Palermo.
