Good day everyone and welcome to my blog. It has been a long week for FC Barcelona after coming back from Saudi Arabia with the Spanish Super Cup trophy to beating Real Betis last night in the Copa Del Rey fixture which I will drop a post about later, but today I want to share more details about the Ronald Araujo transfer saga which has come to an end as the Uruguayan center back has changed his mind about leaving Barcelona and will be open to a new contract which will see him stay many years at the club.
It is a big relief to see the news about Araujo not leaving, but also will be renewing his contract after a long week of trying to leave the club for Juventus this January. It is all thanks to Barcelona sporting director Deco for convincing Ronald Araujo to stay when they had a close meeting on Tuesday night and I am impressed with how Deco was able to achieve this because it was reported that Ronald Araujo already made up his mind to leave the club this January despite Inigo Martinez injury that will give the Uruguayan chance to play more games.
Ronald Araujo is a solid defender and I would say losing him this January would have been a huge blow to the club. According to Fabrizio Romano, the dressing room also played a huge part in Ronald Araujo's decision to stay at the club as Lewandoski, Gavi, Pedri, and others told Araujo not to leave this month and I trust Gavi would have been persistent in telling Ronald not to go and won't take no for an answer. It is good to see that everyone in the dressing room loves and respects Ronald Araujo which is why he is a leader plus one of the captains for the club.
FC Barcelona in the coming days will bring the renewal details for Ronald Araujo and also the likes of Gavi, Pedri, and Lamine Yamal will get a new deal soon from the club as Deco is preparing all documents. It's great that the Ronald Araujo transfer saga has come to an end and you have to see the way he was cheered on the pitch last night by the Barcelona fans, that is enough to show that he is loved by the fans and they want him to continue at the club, I as a fan also want the same thing for Araujo in Barcelona.
Since the Araujo saga has been put behind the next one that will come up towards the end of the season will be Frenkie De Jong's contract renewal or possible exit from the club. There is no news for now on Frenkie De Jong's future at the club, but I still think he should stay as well, it all depends on how Deco and how willing Frenkie De Jong will be to stay at the club. So guys that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
