Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. It is no news that Chelsea football club has officially parted ways with Enzo Maresca on mutual terms this week. This news is not a surprise to me as I always knew Maresca's days at Chelsea were numbered because, frankly, he is not the right man for the job with the Blues. Maresca, during his time at Chelsea, was able to win trophies for the club, which include the UEFA Conference League title and the FIFA Club World Cup. It is a good start, but a manager with that kind of quality players should have more good results.
Chelsea has spent over 2 billion euros signing players, and yet they are still having problems competing in the Premier League, even with the quality and squad depth the team possess. One would think they should win every title and competition they find themselves in, but that is not the case with the Blues. Enzo Maresca clearly doesn't know what he is doing at the club, and I say this because I have watched some Chelsea games closely and seen a lot of errors he has committed, and one of them in the past was player Pedro Neto out of position.
This was a huge problem which limited Pedro Neto's playing style and even got Chelsea fans complaining about the same matter. This went on for some time until he finally put Pedro Neto in the right position. The saying that managers know best can be flawed sometimes because I don't understand when you are experimenting on a player in a different position and see it clearly not working, then the best thing is to put that player back to their neutral position, not everybody can be like Messi, and that is a fact.
The Chelsea board are also to be blamed for the team not doing well because this exclusion from allowing managers to be involved with the transfer market is absorbed because how do they expect a manager to work efficiently when they are providing players he doesn't need. This is one of the reasons why the few managers who have taken over Chelsea's job since the new owners took over have been finding it difficult, but only Maresca has given two trophies to the club, which is something that needs to be commended by the former manager.
Chelsea is in search of a new manager, which wouldn't take long, as there are many names on the shortlist, but one of the promising names on the table is Liam Rosenior, which, frankly, is the first time I am hearing about the manager. I did a little background and found out he is currently in charge of Strasbourg and has managed Hull City. It just shows the Blues are not going for top managers and are just testing the waters. Chelsea's upcoming match this weekend will be handled by the youth team manager as the board is expected to announce a new manager by next week.
This is where I say goodbye now. Thanks for stopping by, and I look forward to the weekend fixtures ahead. Have a great day.
