Great read. The contracts are the way to go here. If Rodri et all don't wanna play the league cup then put it in their contract and put an asteriks beside his honour list. As you said above I don't think 1 Man City players played over 30 games . Maybe Ederson was the exception but I remember seeing a chart last year how they managed their squad. It was genius.

Don't even get me started on the goalkeepers (particularly Alisson) whinging that they're playing too much! At least the outfield players can point to the fact that they have to run x kilometres per game. Goalkeepers are looking at their fitbits wondering if they'll make 10,000 steps today. David Raya spends half a game of football lying on the floor! Take him out a nice warm cup of milk and a blanket and he could nod off
