I know a lot of people say this, but sometimes I am kind of sad that I met my wife when I did. Wait, that probably didn't come out the way I intended it. You know that line where they say "I wish I had met you sooner so I could have loved you longer". That's what I am talking about.

When she was in high school @mrsbozz was a quite competitive basketball and volleyball player. She has a wealth of knowledge about those two sports that even surpasses me (believe it or not). I say all of this to lament the fact that I was never able to watch her play volleyball or basketball. From what I hear she was absolutely amazing.

It's also something that brought her a lot of joy at the time, so seeing her thriving in her element would have been awesome. I get to see that through my nieces and nephews as they play sports, but it isn't quite the same.

These past couple of weeks watching the NCAA volleyball tournament has been a bit of a window into that time in her life. I can't remember her getting so excited about a sports contest on TV. Sure, she likes to watch Michigan State Basketball, and she suffers through Michigan State Football with me, but most of the time she simply tolerates what I have on and reads her book while I cheer and swear at the TV.

The championship game of the volleyball tournament was this past Sunday and I almost forgot about it until she turned to me and said "aren't you going to switch over to the game". That's how excited about it she was. She needed to remind me to turn to it.

Anyway, I did, and we were treated to a virtual clinic of volleyball as Texas A&M rolled over Kentucky and won their first ever NCAA title. @mrsbozz had been cheering for Texas A&M early on give this was their first ever trip to the tournament. I was holding out hope for a Big Ten team to make it to the final, but with Kentucky knocking out Wisconsin and Texas A&M taking down Nebraska we were stuck with a SEC vs SEC match up.

It was fantastic. Texas A&M started off slow with Kentucky getting something like six quick points, but The Aggies stormed back and beat The Wildcats in straight sets. Being a number three seed taking down a number 1 seed like that left the Kentucky ladies and fans stunned. Like I said, it was a virtual clinic. They were just so dominating.

The coach has said he wants to turn Texas A&M into a volleyball powerhouse and I think he is well on his way to doing that.

It was probably some of the best sports TV I have watched in quite some time!

NCAA women's volleyball is top notch stuff. I actually really like women's volleyball and women's softball and women's track and field. I don't really like women's basketball though except for a couple players.

I have a couple connections to women's basketball through my nieces, so I watch it more than I probably normally would. They both played softball, so that is a big draw and the fact that my wife played volleyball as well as my other niece makes it exciting for me.
