Open Church: Free to share

Welcome to church! Open Church is a weekly post that aims to be a place where Christians on Hive can hang out, encourage and build up one another, and reflect the love of Christ. The church is not a building, but is made up of people who have been transformed by God’s grace.

Each week I will be putting up a new post with a new topic or theme for discussion. But feel free to come here just to fellowship and be a blessing to one another. Whatever denominational background your from, or if you’re just curious about the Christian faith, everyone is welcome.

So feel free to share a link to your favourite worship song, share a word of encouragement, a prayer request, or introduce yourself.

Today’s topic is: Welcome to Open Church

As brothers and sisters in Christ from all over the world, we are united as one in Christ. I love how this community brings us from diverse backgrounds to share life together and encourage one another.

I have learnt a lot from many of you here, and have been encouraged to see the faith and zeal of God’s people from around the world. Especially with the happenings of late, it’s a good reminder to know that in Christ, there is no racial, social-economic, or gender distinction, but we are all one in Christ.

”There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:28)

So today, I want to give everyone a chance to share a word of encouragement, a scripture, a song, or whatever is on your heart. Let’s use this platform as an opportunity to encourage one another in Christ.

Blessings
Jimmy

Yes Jimmy, I love the word that you shared that we are all one in Christ.
Where there is hatred in the world it's up to us Christians to show the world the love of God.

He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now. He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
I John 2:9‭-‬11 NKJV

And to proof that it's brothers and sisters from every nation.

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands,
Revelation 7:9 NKJV

Let's all take hands and show God's love to a lost world.

Amen Good word Hope. I agree, it’s up to us Christians to show God’s love to the world. Thank you very much for sharing.

It is indeed true that it is up to christians to show God's love to the world because are expected to be the evidence of God's love.

Yeah! We are all co-heirs with Christ irrespective of race, gender etc.

My encouragement to us all is that God has good plans for us irrespective of what may be going on. God knows you and He has good thoughts concerning you so, keep the faith.

Amen. Thanks for the encouragement Tom.

Yes He has the best for us in mind. But the best for us at a given moment might be to go through a trail that our faith may be tested.

I can't agree less.

Trials come to make us us stronger

Exactly. Trials are necessary for our maturity in Christ. I love what James 1:2-4 says:

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Indeed. Thanks for the encouragement.

Today I want to share some specific phrases of the post that I have left here.

https://hive.blog/hive-114345/@lorennys/what-are-you-afraid-of

"Be still and know that I am God!"
God be with us at all hours of the day and night!

In the midst of any circumstance let's not forget these. All be very blessed ...

Thank you for the encouragement. I read your post. God is for sure always with us. The antidote for fear is faith.

hello friend @hope777, it is good to see you here, thanks for stopping to read. Blessings...

Amen. Thanks for sharing sister.

1 John 3:1-5 - New King James Version

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. 4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.

Amen. Beautiful passage. Indeed what privilege and blessing that we should be called children of God, and what wonderful hope we have in Christ.

Amen indeed!!

We are getting so used to the idea that we are God's children that we might lose the wonder of how incredible it is to be a child of the most High.

May that never be so, may we never treat Him that way and Father forgive us when we do!

Right now, my word of encouragement is in Psalms 91. I think it is a reading that we must declare every day in our lives, especially for what the world is experiencing today. Trusting his word, his promise and declaring it, this psalm seems ideal to me ... Well actually I really enjoy the psalms and proverbs.
Blessings for all.

Amen. That’s a very encouraging Psalm. Thanks for sharing sister.

In our current circumstances Psalm 91 is a big comfort. In South Africa a movement was started to read aloud Psalm 91 outside your home.
Thank you for the encouragement.

In Christ alone is our hope. God bless his people. Amen.
Shalom!
