WONDERS OF PRAISE

According to dictionary.com, praise is the act of expressing approval, admiration, commendation or laudation or something. It is the offering of a grateful homage in words or songs, and is often an act of worship. Praise from a grateful heart is like a sweet music in God’s ears. It is the one thing God desires to hear more from his children than request, supplication and petition. Praising God is an acknowledgement of his might, goodness, and faithfulness. It is also an expression of our gratitude for what He has done for us, and gratitude, they say, is the best attitude. Praise is the first and best thing you should do before anything else each day.

Praising God is easy when things are rosy, but we live in a complex world where things get rough, complicated, difficult and twisted sometimes. When things get dark and dreary, we often feel no obligation to be thankful to God. But the apostle Paul, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, charges all Christians to praise God in all situations, “In every thing give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

Look around you, you will find reasons to thank and praise God. May be the reason you think is not yet to praise God is that you have not attained the level you intend to achieve. I want you to know they are many people who want to be like you, but are not. No matter your present state I want you to give God the praise. God wants your praise than your request.

Praise is not a religious entertainment; it is a spiritual weapon that passes your battle over to God. It stirs God into action on your behalf. Praise opens the door to the supernatural and gives you victory over life’s battles. Praise brings God’s presence, and in His presence, you will experience the fullness of joy.

You can’t truly praise God or experience the wonders of praise except you accept Jesus as your Saviour and Lord. That is, you confess your sins to God, ask for His forgiveness, repent of those sins and believe in Jesus.
