Humility is one of the virtue every Christian should possess.

What is humility?

Humility means the absence of self. It is the act of being humbled and thinking of others as though the are better than you. Humility is the opposite of pride. One must however be careful not to mistake or misuse cowardliness and fear to mean humility because God has not given us the spirit of fear but of sound mind.

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Prov. 16:18

Pride

Pride on the other hand is a negative virtue, it means being full of self, overconfidence, hurtfulness, boastfulness and trying to place yourself above others.

This is a very important issue that Christians ought not to ignore because it is the nucleus of Christianity. In fact the Bible clearly states that God hates pride but gives to the humble. Thus, as Christians, we should and must come to the realization that there is nothing we are or would ever be without God. If we know this, then we would not think of ourselves as god but rather reference all we have and are to God the creator and the giver of grace.

Sadly, few Christians if not a large number are still struggling with this vice and very few too are ready to admit that they have some element of pride either in their dressing, their communication or their relationship with other brethren. It may seem kinda abstract, but by the special grace of God, I would be x-raying the stories part from experience that portrays whether the character in the story was humble or proud.

The scripture records that Jesus though he was God thought it robbery to equate Himself as God.
Did you get that? I mean that Jesus was humble even to the cross. That is what is humility. My prayer is that the Lord will give us the grace to be humble because truth to be told we don't have the capacity to be humble because of the human nature in us which is always trying to show off.

Seat tight brethren, by God'd grace tomorrow, I would be glad to share the phases of pride that could be seen in a believer. I hope that we would have one or two things to learn there, God bless you and a Happy new month to y'all.

I remain your brother and friend @bishopntuk.

I believe God's word teaches us pride is the root of all sin against Him @bishopntuk. Humility was perfectly modeled for us in the life of our Lord. Christ in us is our only hope of overcoming pride and walking humbly through this life.
