Dealing with the Hypocrisy
I realized after posting yesterday that I didn't address the second part of the verse I used in my last post (added below for clarity.) I can see that some might have issue with me posting about the fast as it could be seen as "looking gloomy... that their fasting may be seen by others." To clarify; This is meant to celebrate the Lord and what he is doing in my life and the lives around me.
Mathew 6:16-18
“And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you."

Day 2
I can already see how this process can bring you closer to God if done correctly. I have a full hour for lunch, an extra hour or more in the morning, and since we have a little mini-feast and celebration in the evening our family life might even be better. So how am I using this time? Well working on Rhema Games, reading my bible, and listening for Gods still small voice. Along with all that my wife and I joined a Faith Driven Entrepreneur to finally get connected with others that share our intent if not our mission.
This is also the first night we get to go to church as a family to be with fellow believers and fasters (it's a corporate fast.) I look forward to listening and reporting on the good things God is already doing in the lives of others.
I don't believe there is much else to say so let me leave you with the verse that is on my mind,
Mathew 6:25-34
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
May God bless you, and keep you.
