HOW WE MADE GARRI

in Homesteading4 months ago

Hello, everyone in this amazing community #homesteading . It’s a new week and I want to tell you guys how me and my family made garri. Last week we went to the farm which was a bit far from my house. on our way to the farm we had a little bounding time, where our auntie told us a little story of when they were young and it was really inspiring and educational and they also have a great sense of humor.

When we finally arrived at the farm, we first started with harvesting of the cassava we also added some yam. We divided the farm into two portions one for cassava and one for yam. After we were done with the harvesting we immediately started to bag them.

After we where done with bagging of the cassava and yam we carried. We where now heading to the place where we normally grinding the cassava reaching there we had to pill the cassava first before grinding. We pilled for about 2hrs because it was much. 2hrs later we were done with the pilling they were now ready for grinding. The cue was much so we had to leave the cassava for him to grind and squeeze. The next day i went and carried the grilled cassava for us to fry. But before frying we had to filter them.

After filtering i started to fry. Although i was not as good as my aunties I tried my best.

It was actually fun. Garri is actually a nigerian meal that is being made from cassava, just as the way corn was grinned and it was called cornflakes. Then garri was gotten from cassava it should be called garriflakes😂. Practicing homestead is a very unique, necessary lifestyle. self-sufficiency is the key. I'm happy because today we are going to enjoy the fruits of our labor 😂.

Anyway, this was a lovely post and it's nice to see how Garri is made. It's really not an easy task at all.

That's such a hard labour.
Well done dear
Virtually everyone in Nigerian eats garri.

It was not easy.😂 thank you @monica-ene
