Another Harvest day came upon us yesterday and due to this reason I am more than happy that today I will be eating some tubers from our farm.
I won't be wasting time in eating yam porridge today as it has been a very long time I have eating some yams.

Our yams have spend roughly 8months in the ground ever since they were planted and even though we hesitated about harvesting it or checking if it were ready for harvest some thieves have alerted us on the need to do some

We went to the yesterday morning and about Afternoon when we were done and about coming home since I was in a hurry to catch up with choir rehearsal we noticed that a portion of our yam farm have been dugged and the yams stolen. The thief was probably more hungry than we are (there is hunger everywhere due to the inflation and only a few people are able to afford their daily meals from the market) and has been monitoring our yams for when they will be ripe for harvest.

Since they began to steal the yams daddy decided to dig up and begin harvest too. Dad is the one who often does yam harvest, I never ever understand how that is done. As you have to cut out the tuber and leave another portion of it in the ground to form seedlings for next year planting.

Can you see this singular tuber of yam here, it is sold for a dollar at the market here and in order places it cost even more. This is how expensive food items are. Ever since yam became that expensive, I haven't bought it tasted one from the market.

Using a cutlass, dad continually digs around the tuber to pull it off the ground without breaking or butchering the yams.

If you harvest this size tuber of yams it is often a good harvest.

The last time we have passed this yam farm I was highly anticipating harvest and even thinking that daddy doesn't want to harvest the yams until this month is over but the thief has brought our harvest sooner. And if we do not make haste to harvest what we have left of the yams they will come back to steal them all.

It is not a uncommon thing to have thieves stealing farm products here only that we believe that in all of their stealing they won't cart away with everything and we the owners of our farms will still have something tangible.

Está linda essa terra, assim como sua colheita, parabéns! Saudações desde o Brasil.

Nothing is more joyful than reaping such a great harvest after so much effort have been put into farming.
For the yam thieves, he or she is just eating up the future already. In my village, stealing of yam.is sacrilegious.
Keep an eye on the groundnut farm before it is invaded by hungry and lazy people.

They are definitely lazy since there is quality lands for them to farm on here.

I'd be waiting for the yam thief with 12 gauge..

Hahahaha.

I hope to catch him sooner too.

By the way I prepared yam porridge with that yam you saw above.
Here is your portion of the meal

I've never had them served like that.. I bake them with walnuts and brown sugar.. top with marshmallows.. bake until golden brown

I will like to try that too..
As a foodie that loves taste adventures 😂

Waoh... Your yam harvest is bountiful. Those tubers as big as they are are very expensive in our south eastern markets this year. Every food item is extremely costly. You really has a good harvest, just don't mind the thieves 😂.

Food are expensive in every part of Nigeria including here.
Thanks for stopping by dear.
