Yesterday we decided to make some scarecrow for our rice field. Even though these birds are becoming familiar with what it means to keep them away, sometimes this works a little, especially when the wind is blowing.

I got some pieces of my old clothes and attached them to the woods.
Our rice is already at the haul and seed production stage. This is when birds suck up the soft and tender seeds. Whenever these birds come in mass and invade a field, they often eat up all the rice grains, leaving us with a high chance of harvesting nothing. Our rice plants are the only crop affected by these challenges. Most other grain-producing crops often do not have this challenge.

Right after fixing the scarecrow, we went ahead to apply a little fertilizer to the already-producing grain. At this time it doesn't need too much of the fertilizer, as that could make it very vegetative, and all you will get is more of the leafy plant. A little fertilizer applied at this time will aid the seeds to mature well.

These days we barely spend so much time on the farm as the rains have gotten so constant that almost every day is characterized by rain.

Most of our farm work is concluded at this time, and we await the harvest of one thing or another. First will be the harvest of our groundnut, which we have been preparing for. Then rice and beans will follow, even though I'm not sure about which one we will be harvesting before the other this year since everything is growing together.

The same way my soy bean growth was affected, our rice growth was also interferred with, and we aren't expecting much from here, but the growth of our beans and peanuts has been impressive, and in the coming week there is every possibility that our groundnuts will be harvested.

You have been working hard. I especially like peanuts. They taste great and provide protein. I have heard we Americans are the only people who eat peanut butter. Maybe because it was our great scientist, George Washington Carver, who invented so many ways to use peanuts. !BBH
