Hello guys, it's a joyful thing for me to post here in the community. I'm so happy to share with you all.
Today from my homestead kitchen, I'll share with you guys, how I made my palm kernel oil which is called Ude Aki in Igbo tribe Nigeria.

This is a commonly oil in Nigeria used for skin care and other health benefits.
I always love to have this oil handy at home, so when I realised the oil was running out I quickly started making preparations for another one.

Yes it is a stressful process but it is always worth it. The palm kernels I used was from a harvested palm fruit , after using it to cook palm fruit stew, I let the nuts aside to use it to make this oil whenever it is running out. So here in here post I'll share with you the process of making it

To start I got my palm kernels ready and put them out in the sun to dry. I keep it out in the sun for days to dry completely until the nuts inside starts turning really black

After that I start to crack the kernels and put them out in the sun again to dry out. After 24 hours depending on the heat of the sun

Next I soak it in water overnight and then I put it in a pot. I Set fire in the woods and put the pot to heat and added a little water

I was stirring it gently to heat it up and to let the kernels let out the oil in it.

After a few minutes of stirring the oil was starting to come out. And when the oil was all out I got my sieve and separated the oil from the kernels

And that's how I got my palm kernel oil

It was ready and set. I mostly use it for my little boy and it helps me achieve a very smooth skin for him.
I'm always happy to make this myself and using what we get from the environment.
The earth is so full of goodies that we appreciate and use for our own good, and making things with our hands always gives us delight.

I'm happy to share with you all today how I made the nice oil. I hope you enjoyed the process and will be trying it.
