↑THIS brand new bed was covered in previous posts↑
This is my first post TO this community, but I've been doing my gardening posts for a long time, don't know why I never made it here before.
You can follow my progress, beginning here
where I finally began moving my plants outside for the warmer season, and what a chore that was I might add.
That was 9 days ago
I'm 67, with some serious COPD and back issues, I live alone so it's just little ole me for the most part
When I bought this 80 yr old farm house, the owners for the last 10 yrs or more had let things go wild. 4 days ago I began a project to reclaim and repurpose a bed running along the east side of the house,
you can read about that here
Last year was my first year here in my new home, and my first ever from the ground up home garden.
It was a learning effort and rewarding.
I determined this year I would do things differently, utilizing lumber from a deck I had to dismantle, I've created some raised beds like that one up top.
I've created this video from my ALL MORNING workout using the tiller, sifting, amending and replacing the soil from the other new bed
The still images show the stages (they are in the video as well)
↑Before any tilling was done↑
↓The "more or less" finished bed↓
(That's some Oregano left from last year I stuck in that front right corner)
Now, I will need some more peat moss, and some PLANTS!
In the long bed so far (at the top of this last image) I've got straight neck squash (to run on the fence I hope) a bunch of Okra and a couple of Poblano Pepper plants.
Up at the kitchen end of that reclaimed bed alongside the house I have
Basil, Cilantro, Rosemary, Red and Yellow Bell peppers and some wild onion or chives gone native, not sure what they are but I'M gonna treat them like chives.
Well, I hope you enjoyed the show

I'm glad you found the community. I know I've seen you around before, but I guess I didn't realise you were a passionate gardener. There are a couple of garden communities that are active. I also use HiveGarden, but I like it here too. There's good company here. 🙂
I use Hive Gardening (hive-147663)https://peakd.com/c/hive-147663/created fairly often when posting about my yard and flowers.
I've had conversations with others who are really into HOMESTEADING, as in going au natural and building from scratch, so I didn't think what I do would be a good fit, but an admin in The Terminal told me otherwise, and so here I am.
Thanks @minismallholding
That's a great work from you buddy. And living alone all by yourself, hope you don't feel bored at home. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day.
Boredom wouldn't cover what I feel here most times, I have plenty to do, in fact that is more what I feel many times; overwhelmed and unable to decide which thing to attack next.
I get tired, I get depressed, I take naps when I probably shouldn't, but still I don't think bored would apply.
Thanks for commenting @twicejoy
You welcome
Way to work it
Living alone is good, but when a person is sick، he needs care, do you have relatives or children to check on you?
No

wish you recovery and good health, eating ground radish is useful for that
Radish is useful for what @worldstories ? I don't get it.
For COPD, IT helps to reduce symptoms
Well thanks for the input. I love radish and when the impulse hits me and I see them in the store, I buy for salads or just to munch on raw.
I also love Horseradish, I tend to keep a jar in the fridge for use as a condiment.
While that will tend to open my sinuses, I've never noticed any effect good or bad on my COPD @worldstories , but thanks
