Mid-Winter Shearing, 3DP, Utd Miracle, Hike, Racks, Wired, Krash - Thursday

After getting the boys to school yesterday morning I got laundry going first thing then went to deal with the mop on my head. I've grown to highly dislike when my hair gets past a few inches in length and despite it being 10-20F outside it was time to hack it off. It gives a bit of a freeing feeling, chilly but freeing.

The #3dprinter was plugging away nonstop all day long with only brief pauses between runs. The plate of HSW parts did okay, save the one that broke free part way through. I did screw up though as I used the wrong supports which made it shitty to deal with. Lesson learned.

More HSW parts and I screwed up the larger during resizing and cutting. The mounts are a touch too big and I have to shave them down to fit the inserts.

Man Utd did not deserve to win the match, it was pure luck from the goalie's own goal. The only reason they won is Rangers turned off for a moment right at the end. A real surprise as I absolutely expected them to get destroyed.

I had a bit before a print was done so headed up on the hill. I also noticed I was only 100 feet of climbing from getting a Garmin badge so figured I would take care of that on the hike. With the sub freezing temps the frost heave is pretty dramatic. Ton of the rocks are all sitting in open cavities now.

It has to be a squirrel or similar that is digging outside the fence. This was a few posts down from an older dig spot.

Insane how little snow we have in the valley now. 500 feet higher elevation is coated...

I walked back to the house with a couple minutes left on the print. These I'm stoked on. They are pistol holders and they work WONDERFULLY! The tabs on the sides slide under the other frame so they can be side by side or like I have them now a space to hold the extra magazines.

I had to head up to the school to pick the boys up after STEM club which they had a blast in playing with SCRATCH programming.

The second set of holders came off. One of them I cut one tab off of so it would sit against the back wall correct. It makes a huge difference now and made a ton of room on the shelf.

@stryeyz asked if I could print a dumb bell rack and I searched but only found a single rack that might work. I printed one out at a 125% increase which will work okay for the small 1-5 pound weights. I split the parts then scaled the biggest I could get at 160% and ran half overnight and the other half is running now. I have to glue them together but I think they will work okay.

The Kraken played and got spanked. The Capitals are the best team in the NHL so it was an uphill battle from the start.

That god damned wire! I heard it click as it went in, outside the triple.

IMG_20250123_201000.jpg

Headed out to soak since I was sure where the game was headed.

IMG_20250123_204907.jpg

And I was right. OV got an empty net goal and is only 20 away from the record. They won 3-0.

The last print to come off the bed for the day. The stand for the metal detector is pretty slick as it goes on in front of the rear arm support and it keeps the handle area up off the ground when set down. Then more parts for the dummies. I got the dumb bell rack parts going and let them run as we went to bed, at 50% speed.

Today I got the printer going already finishing the rack, will get the boys to school, PDC is on, have to deal with the water line that froze again as the animals need water which I may have to haul in buckets across the farm, organizing as I print and install more HSW walls and parts, then enclose the base of the printer stand for the dehumidifier which now gets here today.

Dehumidifiers are awesome. We have two running in our house. We pull out about a half a gallon of water a day makes it much more comfortable.!👍😊

WE have one for our bathroom but it has a drain hose to the sink so we never have to empty it. This one I will have to empty since it will be in the cabinet. You're way more humid over there than we are so I would think they are almost mandatory to have.

We have ours in the bathroom hooked up with a drain hose just like you do!👍
Even with the humidifier is running the lowest we can get the humidity is 47%
Without it would be 65%🙄
