Flat Tire Fun, Chiro, PDC, 3d Printing, Stratego, Pokeball, NLCV - Monday

I could tell something was off as I drove off the farm yesterday morning on my way to my chiro appointment. I got on the highway and the truck felt off and I had a hunch that I had a low tire. Yep, I was right. About 5 miles from home it blew and I had to limp it the quarter mile to the next road turn off. It had a big gouge in the side wall with a tear towards the tread.

"This sir is a DEAD TIRE!"
"It's not dead! It's pining for the fjords!"

Pro-tip to everyone, get a floor jack for changing tires, it makes the whole experience so much easier and faster. The thing I had to do though was lower the brake drum and axle down onto the side of the rim then add a piece of wood I found on the hill nearby to the jack. That got the wheel studs up high enough to get the spare tire on.

About this time a county Sheriff slowed to check on me but I thanked him and told him I had it no problem. Nice that he stopped to check.

I what amounted to a pit stop I had the spare tire on and was back on my way to my appointment. The spare was rather low on air but had enough for the trip down and back to the house.

Much better place this time than last with the physical status so the adjustments weren't as desperately required. It felt super nice though and I walked out feeling a good bit better.

I got back to the house and first thing filled the spare now on the truck. After Christmas I will get the tire replaced since we have warranties on them.

The last day of the prelims for the PDC were on and some badass matches took place. Sudden death legs are crazy and the first session saw one as did the second.

For much of the day I had the 3d printer going working on the full size catapult parts. I had printed a pair of the smaller which are about 4 inches long but then I scaled it to make it max size I can print so it will be 12 inches long now. It is a mix of PLA, PET-g, and then ABS today for the throwing arm.

Because of the varying colors I had to change spools a bunch. I had the red in use, the blue in the dryer next to it and so I set the grey on top to get a little pre-warming.

I heard the commotion from J's room and went in to see them fighting over the old Stratego game they were playing. I hardly ever played this as a kid so it's good to see them putting in some time with it.

The match I was most interested in seeing was Ricky Evans and it did not disappoint. They went to a sudden death leg which Ricky ended up winning. The crowd was fully behind him singing and chanting his name most the match.

He's one of the nice guys of the sport who many people like to see do well.

The parts are coming together for the catapult and the legs are done as well. All I have is the throwing arm to print but I have to move the printer to where I can attach the exhaust tube to vent the ABS fumes outside.

Rather pleased with the Pokeball I'm making for R. I took it to the tool shed and used the sander to knock down the roughness.

A cut nail works perfect for the pin and I happened to have the perfect spring in my screw bin.

A paperclip worked perfect to bend as the button retainer. Only thing left now is to glue the shells on which I will do today. I'm pretty sure he is going to be super stoked.

It's a mandatory Christmas movie watch every year. National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.

Headed out to soak a bit later as @stryeyz was trying to finish up payroll stuff for work. Got a half hour before my stupid hands freaked.

Rain was inbound before bed and I woke to it pounding down with a vengeance at 4:15am this morning but now the worst of the system is to the south and won't be too bad today. Not feeling much like Christmas with no snow on the ground.

Today I have to finish the ball for R, work around the farm on chores, I need to go fill up my truck with gas as I wasn't stopping yesterday with the low tire, we may have brunch out, and I'm super thankful to have my Prednisone again because my skin is no longer actively trying to flee or escape my body.

Too bad about the dead tire, my friend….🙄
Have a very Marry Christmas!🤗

It happens. I'm just happy I'm more than capable of changing it quickly.
Merry Christmas to you as well!

So very true my friend!👍
Some people I know would not be capable of repairs, it’s a big plus in life!😊

My father has been a mechanic his whole life and I learned oodles by osmosis/watching then a lot of mistakes om my own.
