This is just getting obnoxious at this point. I was up well before the 3:33 am yesterday morning but got the shot when it turned... I have no clue my sleep issues but this morning was even worse....

At least the day was to be dry before the onslaught of more sky floods.

Went to my session which was good and helpful. I have a LOT to work through.... Got home to find one of my fly tying books arrived and I got a free book with that will be going to Art who does horse packing.

I had told Chip and Kris at the Fly Shop that I would get some pics of the carapaces in the tunnel. This is a dragonfly. There are also others that I am working to identify.

I grabbed this one to take with me.

I love the look of the tunnel.

The mosses are all LOVING the mild temps and water flows right now. All super vibrant green.

The mild temps mean the mushrooms can keep fruiting...

And holy balls are they everywhere STILL!

The hike up to the launch was mellow and there were little fungus all over the hillside.

I climbed into the pen and found we have a tree that tipped over in the recent storms. I went and pushed on it but it is really solid where it stands...

Quite large fish part beneath the eagle's preening tree.

One of my eagles was sitting atop its nest scanning all around it. It glanced down at me a few times but had its eyes else where the rest of the time.

It flew off not long after this shot.

On my way down the hillside I found this lone mushroom fruiting from the crack in this log.

Later in the afternoon I managed to take some time at the board and worked on groupings.

Aiming for the triple 20 and get all triple 5s.....

Down feathers are meant to be fluffy, made mostly of finely serrated strings of feathers that remain lofty and create a dead air space near the skin of the bird. I dug into my feather bag and got a nice downy feather which I used as the main material for this fly. This is the down for dubbing then the hackle/wing/streamer is the same. I am REALLY curious how these will act in the water... I have boat loads of downy feathers to work with thanks to the years of collecting from the upper pen.

Had to get the trailer hooked up for the grain run I have done this morning already.

2:30am awake, 4am to town, 5am home, 5:15 grain emptied/spread and trailer unhooked, now post written by 6am. I will get the boys to school then go to my doctor appointment for the bi-annual. This evening we have our session and have to figure out dinner after.

Dangerous flooding over here in the valleys.. so glad to live in the foothills my friend!🙄😇
The bulk is falling over there so we have been spared the flooding thankfully.
I’m watching the Nooksack river level in Everson it’s just over 78 feet flood stage is 83 feet.
Unfortunately Liz works today in town…
She wants me to call her if it hits flood stage so hopefully she can leave quickly!🙄
Looking pretty floody over there!

It is pretty bad..... I've been watching the USGS trying to get the 10 AM river level at Everson Washington....
I told Liz if it hits flood stage close down shop and come home!!
