This is a photographic journey telling the story of the most inspiring project I ever dared to bring to life. It started on August 23rd. 2021 when a couple of good neighbors came over to help me unload a truck full of timber. besides help carrying the heavy roof panels, I have been doing all the work single handed which is sometimes challenging but forces me to be creative.
building permits ? no. I learned that if you ask for permission, you are risking getting a no as an answer..
estimated budget up to date under 3000 Euros.
leveling off for the back side of the house, supported by gravel filled tyres
digging for foundations
framing
quality control
placing the roof. I will thank me for that in summer !

Starting the double floor, sheep wool insulated
washing and drying the sheep wool
we could not resist and just had to sleep in the house
the next day the aliens also came to check it out
as a way of blessing the house and ensuring good vibrations we have had a yoga session followed by meditation
then it was time for wall frames
Then paneling
and then it was rain forecast !

i use old tyres too, filled with big river stones and concrete
This is one of four tyre foundation stones, with a rebar set in centre of each tyre, set in the concrete, then a tree trunk (with hole the size of the rebar drilled in bottom).
The trunks are about 4 metres long (supporting a verandah and it's roof) and about 15 cms diameter. A very difficult 2/man job to put them in place. i was supporting @mountainhigh in this process. The design is his.

It looks great, we have a small garden from the family, I want to build a similar house there, but should I prefer wood? I am undecided about this, because of some insects in the garden, they can hide themselves better in wood.

a wooden house is not for eternity. It is to serve its purpose and then go back to become organic material.

yes, I have been talking to some people locally and they all had good things to say about sheep wool and no problems. it is so abundant some people even throw it away...!
the tyres in the back is a bit of a hybrid really. saved me on some digging ; )
