It's Feet for Days

One of the first few contests that were ever hosted by @jaynie and me when back in the days we were still known as the #steemitbloggers. This contest idea originated from @jaynie and as you all know, from the title, she has something for feet.

The Powerhousecreatives community has people scattered all over the world and so we have decided to create a photographic contest where the members will capture the “world at their feet” in the most CREATIVE way they can think of.

The World At Our Feet

 

Criteria :

1. Your photo (which MUST be taken specifically for this contest)

2. Entry must not be less than 350 words cause who knows, you might get curie or ocd :)

3. Add a nice title to your entry. (Extra points for nice titles)

4. A brief explanation of the inspiration and/or creative thought behind the photo and also where in the world it was taken.

5. Include the above contest explanation that is BOLDED (so the rest of Steemit understands why they are suddenly seeing feet all over their feeds haha)

 

Submission :

1. Your Entries(Steemit Post)are to be posted here in the 'community-contest' Channel.

2. One entry is allowed per participant.

3. This contest must be done as a Steemit Post.

4. Post title must include 'PowerHouseCreatives Contest' but with your own title.

5. This contest is created only for the members of #powerhousecreatives.

Is the first time I take a picture of my feet, they're a body part that I've never considered much, although I have to admit they're quite useful, also because to walk without them it must be quite a mess.

Often we don't appreciate things until we think about them carefully, we take everything for granted, but when we miss something we bitterly regret it, we should never take anything for granted.

There are parts of the body that are always more loved than others and to which we always dedicate more time, even if they are not the ones that support us the most and endure our excesses and mistreatment daily. We always try to take care of our appearance before the world: our face, our hands, our legs, almost our whole body, but we forget about that part that supports all our weight and mistreatment as far as care is concerned, I speak indisputably of, our dear and sometimes forgotten, mistreated and neglected feet.

When @zord189 proposed that this week's challenge be about our feet, almost instinctively my mind got caught up in the poetry, echoing some old verses over my fingers, my little toes... one, two, three, four, five...", as I vaguely remembered. Then, I realize that the feet contain poetry, the poetry of life traveled through, what has been stepped on, what has passed, what leaves a mark, what marks us and even what drives us disbalance.

For many people it is important to keep their feet very well groomed: from pedicures to massages and I don't know how many other things. I don't think I'm in that group. Going back to the point of the foot photos, I thought I'd take them by grimacing with my toes. It was very relaxing because I stretched out making my feet feel less tired.

At one time I had a complex about my feet because my toes are too long and my feet are too thin, once someone told me that I could still hang from trees with my feet!

But as we grow up there are words that simply cannot affect you anymore. And now I love my feet and I never hide them anymore.

I have come to the point of teaching them to embrace so that they do not feel alone! lol

When I saw this challenge I immediately thought this would be the perfect opportunity to go to the salon for a pedicure, I did that today, in the Oosterhof mall in Rotterdam. It’s a salon for pedicure and manicure.

My feet are asking me to rest, screaming at me to release the pressure of the shoes, they feel suffocated and want to breathe. I have prepared something special for them this weekend, I am going to take them to the beach to relax in a folding chair and get a tan because they are very pale.

There are 3 types of the foot: 1.- The most handsome: the Greek Foot. Why the most handsome? Well, as you can see, it is the type of foot that I have and could not go against me. I love myself as I am, lol.

Seriously, is the world really at our feet, isn't it more of a presumption and just wishful thinking. We stand up everyday and sometimes, we loose our balance along the way. Not everything is a solid ground as we would like it to be; we're constantly thrown off the cliff with obstacles. Some which we're prepared for while others catch us with extreme surprise.

My feet have never really inspired me, they’re just there and I’ve never really though about them much unless they had been injured or something. I learned in the Army that a soldier’s feet are the most important thing that he/she, has, and he/she has to take care of them. There were only “he’s” when I was in.
