This morning I woke up with an aching back. It’s probably got something to do with all the core work we did at bootcamp yesterday and we might need a new mattress soon. I just knew that I couldn’t be in pain all day and the best way to loosen up your muscles and get rid of that lactic acid is to do some more exercise and get the muscles moving again.
So I headed down to the beach for a short walk. Luckily the autumnal weather is gorgeous at the moment, no wind, just a slight chill to the air. But once you’re moving you warm up really quickly.
I first noticed the wet dew on the grass as my feet got wet in my slip slops (you might call them thongs. What are other names for them?? )
Anyway, as I walked onto the sand the sweet succulents were glistening with dew. It looked like they had been bejewelled but I knew it would soon evaporate as if it had never been there.
A little further down the beach and a cloud of sea foam caught my eye. Another facet of nature that will soon disappear and reform.
This rock surrounded by a small pond of water was my turn around point. The sand perfectly untouched by human feet this morning, until I came along.
Walking the beach is my time to zone out. No thinking or planning, just the present and walking. Feeling the cold sand under my feet. Until I got a phone call from my husband saying that my in-laws had decided to pop over for lunch in 2 hours. (Rush home and jump to action stations)
Walk over!!!
It’s amazing what half an hour of being outdoors can do for your day. It was cut short, but my muscles appreciated the respite from a chair and the indoors.
Sunshine is good for the soul...
What do you do to catch time out from the noise? What recharges your batteries?
Where do you need to go in order to come home and feel at rest / content?
I often just need to appreciate all that I have. No striving or driving. Just thankfulness.
Your photographs is indicating how beautiful and wonderful was your half an hour. we need to have such kind of recharge in our life. if we can spend such kind of wonderful half an hour or an hour in a day I think you don't need to be any kind of motivation for recharge in our way of working. but if we just continue our work work work only then it is not good For our mental situation and physical health as well. Thanks for sharing.
I absolutely agree. Having time and space to create rest is so important!!!
Hi Zoe i am so jealous the scenery is absolutely gorgeous and the fact we only have rain, made me wonder of to dream a little,
Happy hump day
Yes we are very lucky to live near the beach and mountains. But our weather is changing and we’re in the middle of a very cold storm. So don’t worry. My photos will all become wintery very soon.
