Hello everyone in the PHC Community!
Inspired by the challenge issued by @jaynie I'd like to (with a bit of short-lived nostalgia) share my
I need to preface this by saying it is the wonderful game @exodegame that got me into HIVE in the first place and it's amazing developers that created my account and got me started, I'll forever be grateful for that.
Since I'm still new, most of my content is, up to this day, related to the game itself, but the post below is the first step towards coming out of my shell and starting my own 3Speak channel and this is something I've never imagined doing before. HIVE is just amazing like that!
So without further ado, I'll leave you to peruse the original level of shyness a few months ago:
My first ever HIVE BLOG POST (Original date 05. Jul 2020):
Hello everyone,
Please find below my newbie attempt at putting a viable deck together for the first Planetary Challenge Contest
I will split the post in 2 parts, for better digestion and provide commentary after each one:
We start with an Origin and a Ship. Since I already was lucky enough to pull the mighty "Colombus", I really wanted to build around its unique benefits and challenges, so I am pairing that with the Cruise ship captain - with so many passenger slots, we need the speed boost to fill them up!
Equipment is scarce on the big ship, so bringing only Diplomatic Gifts and some Rare Plants, we know that H24 is full of basic plant life (hence introducing rare plants into the biome can potentially lead into a boost in it's ecological system) and that it's neighboured by some less-than-safe aliens, hence the gifts to start off on the right foot.
Our officers are Norah, a Security and an Administration officer. Norah is great for running things locally and helping us with our Diplomacy effort, along with the Administrative officer - we'll have a lot of people on board so best make sure we can manage them effectively. The Security officer is a basic precaution, just to make sure everyone behaves properly.
The ship crew is complete by additional administrative staff - A Propaganda specialist, wellfare, population analyst, some maintenance staff to keep everything running smoothly and a surgeon, for when things get dire.
Our cargo hold is packed only with essentials, as we are quite limited. Some tightly packed habitat capacity, energy generation and a Life Support module to produce water and make sure our Rare Plants don't die off in a few days. The Communications Array will help us establish that "We come in peace" with the locals and a humble Friendly Eyes Autonomous vehicle to kickstart the exploration process.
Off course, all of this is just setting up the ground work for the bulk of our ship space - the passengers! With the Cruise ship Captain boost, we can load up 21 passengers in total, and we will make sure to have enough of everyone:
A couple of full families, to bring on the family dynamic and make sure inter-colony integration is progressing good. A few Socialites to help with smoothing out the various conflicts our Unstable Geniuses are going to produce and some Tech Experts to eventually make everything running smoothly and ensure our long-term progress in this new world! All of this is with a Mysterious Dark Boss, hiding in the colony, the wildcard factor that will (probably) create some conflicts, but can also become a natural leader to the civilian population.
We finish off with the Evac Escort ship selection. The Vega Elite Squadron is admirably powerful, but combined with a few Longswords, they should buy us enough time to load up everything and head off to H24 to colonize and grow our new colony.
Hope you enjoyed this perhaps overly-optimistic deck building attempt!
