Songs that carry memories "Boat on the river" by Styx

Some of the music I regularly listen to are the ones that found a way to the closed space of my head. They bounce back and forth in the skull and often manage to ooze out a little and I sing a verse or two voluntarily without realizing. The song doesn't have to be great or mindblowing to torment me in this way, it can be trashy, it can be legendary. Perhaps, as happened in my ancestors' case, my brain too looks for patterns. I often listen to such addictive tracks on repeat for 3-4 hours straight. Sometimes even longer. Thankfully (and somewhat disappointingly) these tracks are hard to come by.

Styx's 'Boat on the river' is one of those songs. Listened to it the entire day and now even the air seems to be echoing the tune.
When I first listened to the song a few years ago, I was playing PUBG. The match was standard and I had a team member from Lebanon. When he got knocked out, he was calling for me, "Number two, Number Two... please... help me." This is pretty much standard but the urge and helplessness in his shrieking voice got to me.

I forgot about that match and that Lebanese player. But listening to the song today brought back that memory.

I no longer play PUBG. Quitted a couple of years back. I wonder how that player is doing with his life. What are his thoughts on the explosion. Whether he's raged or saddened. Or if he is even safe.
If I sound overly unstable and sensitive, I blame the song.

Styx was like bread to me. It sandwiched my life in my teens. I listen to this day. Good post.

I'm quite new to them but found them quite close to my heart!
