RE: Remember to Express Yourself

Society is often cruel to individuals like me

It's not you, modern society judges absolutely everyone all-the-time.

Have you ever noticed how people who are 40 years and older are far less inclined to give a toss about the opinions of others

Interesting, I've read a book recently that touched this topic. The author argues that after a certain age we've gone through enough shity moments that we learn to develop stronger values: we go through rejections, break-ups, death and also brilliant moments 'till a moment we say "you know what, I don't give a shit anymore about what others think because I know I have honest values and that's what I need to be happy". I have personally learned to not give a fuck after traveling solo; if I had listened to family and friends about 'the stupid ideas I have', I'd never move.

Everything in life is simply a compilation of moments and actions and the second you dissect it in such a manner… the seemingly unachievable, suddenly becomes completely manageable, you will look again, And realise you are standing in a very different place!

There's a song in Portuguese that says (bad translation, but the idea at least is this): "Life is like a bicycle; it only balances if you move; It's not going straight; without having the knack of turning; horizontally, in a straight line; I swim in everything and any sea; always following the same goal; I swim until I cross; always following the same goal; I swim until I cross"

The only thing on your lovely text that saddens me is the first quote. All those burdeens discribed, the men also suffer, with a great agravant -- if we express those feelings, it's generaly diminished or seen as weakness. But humans in general are amazing, no matter how many punches we suck in, those who deal with it succeed.
