[Food Blog] - Fish & Chips at the Aquarius Casino

Hello Hive!

This is officially my first food blog. Since the only outside time I've gotten over the past 6 months has been moving to Nevada or going out to buy groceries, safe to say I've become a little stir crazy.

Well, today we decided to treat outselves to something special.

So my wife @Pommom, her mum and I decided we would go into town and check out the seafood cafe at the Aqaurius Casino here in Laughlin Nevada.

After walking the Casino floor (eyes forward, don't look at the lights!) we finally arrived at the: IMG_20200902_151109 1.jpg

They also have a Panda Express which I didn't know about, maybe next time? panda.jpg

No time for that! It's fish I'm here for.

In Australia one of my favourite things to eat is Fish & Chips so I feel a strong bias towards it when I see it advertised in the U.S. I've heard that the Aquarius has amazing seafood, better than Bubba Gumps apparently.

We had to wear masks while inside and while we sat at our table. According to the sign on the table, which I didn't take a photo of for some reason, said that we could only remove our masks when we were actively eating or drinking. So even if you take a small break from eating to converse, you need to put your mask on.

They'll come out and tell you if you don't as well, I saw them do it to another family.

Anyway.

Caroline and I both go the fish and chips, they came battered and portioned as you would expect. With them came crumb coated fries and some tasty coleslaw. They also had some lemon and decorative greens.

The Fish was perfectly cooked, and flaked off in the best possible fashion. It was like biting into a tasty crunchy, fishy pillow.

Caroline's mum got what they call a 'BALT' sandwich. Which is a standard BLT but with avocado on it as well.

You better believe I got to eat that after we got home and some time had passed. Boy it was good. Avocado is just taking the culinary world by storm - absolutely no prisoners.

I have to admit that their fries are some of the best I've had. Whatever they crumb them in makes all the difference.

They serve other things as well such as burgers and an assortment of different breakfast foods. They actually have a decently sized menu, just click the image to be directed to it.

Anyways, like normal we ended up having to box most of it up. Just can't ever manage to finish the portions they serve over here in the U.S. Thankfully they're always willing to box your food up for you. In Australia you're lucky if you can take it out the front door at all, they freak out thinking you'll get food poisoning.

Oh okay, alright. You convinced me.

Just one game before we go and that's it.

Whelp, that $20 went in a flash.

Caroline's mum got $300 on a single bonus, lucky duck!

Not me though. I'm lucky to ever win anything on these silly things. I think it's because I'm Australian and the majority of these machines are made in Australia, lol - it's a conspiracy!

Anyway, I need to go pass out now. Food coma time.

Good night, and have a great one everybody!
