Day 1052: 5 Minute Freewrite: Monday-Prompt: Head scratching.
The bell was ringing at the moment, signalling the commencement school activities. Femi and Yemi had just entered their classroom after the proceedings at the assembly. Dr. Okafor had warner them seriously against any form of examination malpractice for which the penalties would be dire.

The duo Femi And Yemi have been inseparable friends since from their days of primary school where they had met at an football competition. Then their schools were playing against each other.
Today's paper is mathematics. I hope you practice for it?
I didn't open my books at all.
Mummy was sending me errands I barely had time to settle in my corner.

Femi...!!! What is wrong with you and your mother?
No wait... I can understand your mother, she's an illiterate so she's not aware of the happenings with the before, during and after effects of an examination hall. But YOU!!!
What would you rather I do, say No to mama?
That's exactly it, Say no to mama.
How many hours would you stick your head in a book for that she couldn't spare you?
You nko, (how about you).
Did you read?
Yemi was about to answer when his eye caught the approaching professor as he walked majestically towards the class. He knew how much these professors liked examination days, they usually call it Judgement Day. He had his papa's hat on that looked like a bicycle seat, under his left armpit was a series of God knows what textbooks. Professor Jude can never be spotted with home carrying a library of some sort. His shirt was neatly ironed and tucked into his large pants belted on his pot belly. He approached the class in a Now is the time manner.
It is too late to flip through the pages of our maths textbook. He's here already.
Yemi, I think I can remember some formulas. Let's hope he sets his questions around those topics else its going to be a lot of head scratching with an empty answer sheet to show for it.
Well share it with me before its far too late.
OK. (searches his back pack)
What are you looking for?
My maths text book as well as my jotter. I can't seem to find it.
Better find it... We're joking with 100marks here Femi.
100MARKS!!!
Stop shouting joor... Its not here.
I left it at home, on the dining table.
How!! Why!!!
I wanted to start practicing, so I brought it out and sat on the dining to work. Just when I was about to start mum...
(cutting him short)
Mommy called and sent you out on an errand. Abi (right)?
(Head down)
Yes... Yemi I'm sorry.
(impatiently picks his bag)
Let's talk about that apology later, right now I have an exam to prepare for. No matter how late, I still need to relax my head before its time. Hopefully something could happen.
(Yemi walks away). Femi stands for while, turns and finds professor Jude now stopped and talking to another fellow professor he felt there was still time. So he chased after Yemi.
Yemi wait!!!
