Hello there all you lovely #hivers hope I am finding you all in good spirits.
For no better reason than a splash of colour in my day I got out in the local neibourhood armed with my compact camera to capture some shot.
I have noticed that there is a abundance of flowers at the moment, it seems they are in season although here in the Philippines seasons are not as obvious as they are in Europe where I come from.
My knowledge of flowers is non exsistant but I can certainly appreciate their beauty, this area is very green with jungle life so the odd burst of colour is nice to break it up.
I have to be honest and say iv'e never been one for taking pictures of flowers but of late I have been enjoying doing so and it's made me take a closer look at their complexity.
Things here are still quite closed up and there is very little to do with ones time so at the very worst flowers are getting me out of the house which is no bad thing, to say this quarantine has been dragging would be a massive understatement.
The press have been reporting that the Philippines has had the longest toughest quarantine in the world and as someone living through it I can confirm it has not been easy. We have had a easing of rules a few days ago but already there a rumours that Manilla may be going back into full lockdown.
These are testing times and we must just hope for the best, in the meantime why not brighten your day with some radient blooms I thought.
Well guys that's it, I hope if anything I have gone some way to brightening your day, until next time stay safe out there folks!
When we were kids, we used to spend play-time pollinating hibiscus flowers (gumamela in Tagalog - last photo).
I think they have been pretty strict, but, I live in the Washington, Dc metro area and we have not opened up most things as the rest of our country has. As a side note, many that opened are now reclosing.
The flowers are extraordinary and you hit the nail on the head, the complexities that are often overlooked. I am sure that can be said for many things, but, flowers? They are sometimes bred to fuse elaborate structures - but even the orchid is stunning without that. Your shots are awesome and thank you so much for sharing the beauty with #alwaysaflower.

It's a funny thing but up until recently I rarely took land based photos at all, my love is underwater photography but due to covid and the diving ban that came with it my eyes have been drawn elsewhere and i'm really enjoying the change.
I'm glad! Flowers have a way of making me deliriously happy.
Then I shall hunt down some more to snap some shots of:)
Oh!! That is simply delightful!
